Honda has added a new trim level for 2002, the SE. The Accord SE is based on the LX four-cylinder coupe or sedan trim level with an automatic transmission. Features setting the SE apart from LX models include an upgraded audio system, a driver seat power height adjustment, interior wood grain trim, antilock brakes, remote keyless entry and 15-inch alloy wheels.

Bad Experience - 2002 Honda Accord
By Toolman - March 4 - 10:52 amI will never buy another Honda product. I have had to have the transmission rebuilt twice in this vehicle. Once at 77,00 miles, and again at 103,00. American Honda offered no assistance when I contacted them. Search the internet and youll find numerous complains about problems with failed transmission on this model. Im going back to Toyota for my next car purchase.

Best Coupe for the money!! - 2002 Honda Accord
By speedracer - March 4 - 10:00 amBelieve me, I shopped. I test drove everything from new Nissan Altima 2.5 and 3.5, Toyota Solara, VW Passat, to Acura CL 3.2 TypeS, and new Infinit G35. I even considered trucks and SUVs like Tacoma, Xterra, Frontier Crew Cab, to Lexus RX300. In the end, I still come to decide on the EX V6 Coupe and I cant be happier with my decision. The closest second runner was the Altima 3.5 which I like the smooth acceleration, but once you add up all the options you are looking at $3000 or more, plus 1st year "novelty tax". At $23,500 you have the best of all worlds: loaded safty features, luxury, style, performance and the most of all, Honda reputation and high resale value on this car.

Super Car and Very Crashworthy - 2002 Honda Accord
By M*A*S*H4ever - March 4 - 10:00 amIve had my 02 Accord since 1/5/02 and have loved every minute of owning it! (I previously had a Prelude for 11 years.) The ride is very smooth and comfortable on long trips. As a V-6 EX, fuel economy on the long trip was very good & about average for city driving with the "MAX AUTO" heating/cooling setting. My Accord was also the victim of an accident in January (a panel truck ran a red light and hit an oncoming car head on. This collision caused the back end of the panel truck to go airborne and land on the hood of my 2 week old car! The only damage to my Accord was a crumpled hood on the left side where the truck was resting.

best mid-size sedan - 2002 Honda Accord
By Joe from San Diego - March 4 - 6:50 amThis is my second Accord (had a 92 Accord LX sedan w/ over 120k miles & have had no problems with it). It is amazing how Honda can improve on a car that is already great & very reliable. Improvements in technology (VTEC engine, safety, etc.), styling, & ergonomics are some of the things that I like about this car. What a joy it is to drive this car...it makes me realize how smart I am when I bought it.

Awesome Car to Start Driving On - 2002 Honda Accord
By StickShift - February 19 - 5:13 pmWell, as a 16 year old whos just started driving, I have to say this is an excellent car. Powerful and economical I-4. Only time it struggles is fully loaded with 5 people in the mountains of Pennsylvania. Excellent build quality. Steering is responsive and offers plenty of feedback, as do brakes. Only odd noise is a clicking coming from the sunroof when its cold. SE package offers a sunroof, CD player, alloy wheels and a few other nice features. However, 4 wheel disk brakes, ABS, and power seats wouldve been greatly appreciated. Compared to our previous 98 Camry, the Accords better handling, stronger motor and nicer design inside and out make me love it.

Buy silver.One week out of the showroom, replaced powersteering pump. At 4000 miles winshield scarred by faulty wipers, no recourse at agency, 13000 miles, engine tappets chattering loudly.

I am disappointed - 2002 Honda Accord
By cvw4100 - January 19 - 10:00 amThe car idles rough and they said these idle rough and that other people have complained, the engine is very loud on take off after sitting for several hours and they said that is the way these are and other people have complained they are saying it is a valve noise. It rides very bumpy over even smooth roads. Steering at 65 is awful it seems like you are constantly fighting to keep the car straight I don! t know if it is the aerodynamics or what. I have always heard what great cars these are and I am trying to figure out why everybody is so satisfied with these.

By bonorch1 - January 5 - 10:00 amI HAVE HAD THIS CAR 2 1/2 YEARS.ON VACTION IN JULY THE TRANSMISION STARTED SLIPPING AT HWY SPEEDS AND OVER THE COURSE OF A WEEK STARTED TO SLIP WHILE SHIFTING.THE TRANSMISION WAS REPLACED UNDER WARRENTY WITH A REMANUFACTURED TRANSMISION.I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALER I WAS GETTING A NEW TRANS AND THAT HONDA NEVER USES REMANUFACTURED UNITS.WHEN I GOT THE PAPER WORK IT SAID REMANUFACTURED.WHEN I ASKED HIM HE SAID HE NEVER TOLD ME THAT EVEN THOUGH MY WIFE AND SON HERD HIM SAY IT.BUT THEY CAN DO WHAT THEY WANT BECAUSE ITS UNDER WARRENTY.THIS CAR HAS ONLY 18,000 MILES ON IT.ITS BEEN A WEEK WITH THE NEW TRANS SO FAR SO GOOD.

Bullet Proof - 2002 Honda Accord
By Mr. Honda - December 15 - 10:00 amIve had the 2003 Accord EX V6 more than a year and have no complaints, only praise. Not one defect, nor problem through 13 months and nearly 16,000 miles. The car is comfortable, spirited and technically superb regards engine and associated tech. Intelligently designed and excellent workmanship. I wish the more powerful engine had been available in 2002, but thats the only negative thing I have to say.
