This Year's Model Updates:

Honda has added a new trim level for 2002, the SE. The Accord SE is based on the LX four-cylinder coupe or sedan trim level with an automatic transmission. Features setting the SE apart from LX models include an upgraded audio system, a driver seat power height adjustment, interior wood grain trim, antilock brakes, remote keyless entry and 15-inch alloy wheels.

Pros:
  • Great build quality, spacious interior, peppy yet clean engines, comfortable seats, excellent resale value, reputation for bulletproof reliability.
Cons:
  • Everybody drives one, bland personality, stiff highway ride.

This is an exceptionally built vehicle. The Honda quality is unsurpassable by many manufacturers. The ride is smooth and everything is laid out well within reach of the driver. It is a very user friendly vehicle and the 2.3L 4 cylinder engine is very economical especially in this time we are in now with soaring fuel prices. Modifications are abundant for this vehicle, but not necessary if youre like me and in your mid-thirties. The interior is spacious and has numerous features that come with the SE package. I am very impressed with this car and will be trading in my Ford Windstar for the Honda Odyssey.

First time Honda owner. Through all my research, reading and test driving. This car is hard to beat. My V6 runs silky smooth and quiet. It speaks softly but carries a big stick. Fit and finish both inside and out is above average. My major gripe is the sales personnel. I felt like a carcass among predators. The car sells itself; why do they act like vultures?

Bought the car new. No problems with anything but brake pads, which it eats like candy. No trans problems because I drain and fill the trans every 15,000 miles. I have 127,000 miles of rush hour freeway driving on it. Unfortunately, this is the most boring car I have ever owned. It has all the personality of a refrigerator. In fact this car is only an appliance.

  • Cant go wrong with a Honda - 2002 Honda Accord

Its a great car and nows a great time to buy it. I love the power it has, but I havent pushed it too hard yet because it has only 150 miles on it, but it feels strong none the less. the exterior styling is nice, much better than the 4 door in my opinion. I love the feel of leather, the seats feel great, the steering wheel is nice, and lots of compartments for your junk. The trunk is smaller than I thought, but dont really need that big of a trunk anyway. The only gripe I have is with the tail lights, kinda funky, but the rest of the car makes up for it.

  • Worth the extra money - 2002 Honda Accord

Given the great deals right now on 2002 models, I spent a little extra to get the EX rather than the LX. The EXs added safety features (ABS and side air bags) plus the ammenities (6 CD changer, moon roof, etc.) made it worth the extra money.

  • Fabulous Honda!! - 2002 Honda Accord

Love my car!!! This is only my second car. I have had her about three years. I do not keep up on the maintenance as I should and yet she has never given me any major problems. The only problem i have had is the driver window motor went out, easy fix did it myself, and replaced battery (normal). No other problems. This is an excellent starter car.

  • NO MORE hondas! EVER!!!!! - 2002 Honda Accord

CHEAP OVER RATED trash! Leased new in 02......including MANY rattles, gas mileage has YET to live up to promise, screws lying loose in trunk, painted plastic bumper covers aging faster than painted metal, sunroof doesnt open all the way, fabric is wearing thin on armrests, heat/ac unit cannot be turned off, headlights put out little light at night, accelerator pedal sticks when car is first started, etc, etc. Dealer UNRESPONSIVE!

  • Buy ANYTHING BUT honda - 2002 Honda Accord

I have TOO MANY issues with this car to list them all. Basically its an overpriced, over hyped piece of cheap trash. Gas mileage varies seasonally, lowbeam headlights are worthless at night, paint chips when hit with an egg, interior fabric on armrests was worn thread-bare at 10,000 miles, wiper blades were replaced at less than 5,000 miles, brakes as well, 150 horses and MOST dead, dealers attitude BITES as well. American Honda Finance has NO email address. NEVER AGAIN!

  • Excellent car for the money - 2002 Honda Accord

I bought this car used with about 65K miles on it and it has been great to me so far. Now with 130+K miles it has not yet had any problems. Fuel economy is not as good as I expected (23-32mpg) but still very good compared to others. I have no regrets buying this car and would gladly buy another.

  • This car is fabulous! - 2002 Honda Accord

Ok so I move to Montana and did a lot of car reviews and found this Honda Accord that was just the right price. I absolutely love the car it now has 60,000 miles on it and I have not had one problem in this past year. To keep a car in good shape you have to have regular maintenance. For ex. Oil change, tranny fluid flush. Up keep. Hondas are so reliable and I could not be happier with it. People have problems with cars if they dont take care of them. I love my car!
