This Year's Model Updates:

Honda has added a new trim level for 2002, the SE. The Accord SE is based on the LX four-cylinder coupe or sedan trim level with an automatic transmission. Features setting the SE apart from LX models include an upgraded audio system, a driver seat power height adjustment, interior wood grain trim, antilock brakes, remote keyless entry and 15-inch alloy wheels.

Pros:
  • Great build quality, spacious interior, peppy yet clean engines, comfortable seats, excellent resale value, reputation for bulletproof reliability.
Cons:
  • Everybody drives one, bland personality, stiff highway ride.

  • Solid car - 2002 Honda Accord

Excellent car. Brakes and engine are well balanced compared to most competing vehicles. The car feels solid but not heavy and moves nibly and smoothly. A better value than the Camry and without the arrogance of Toyota dealerships.

  • Just bought a HONDA LOVE IT! - 2002 Honda Accord

We just bought a Accord Value Package. I orginally wanted the Accord DX, but no dealers had any, one dealer had the value package which is a DX model with a lot of options. I paid 16,300. It only comes in 2 colors silver and blue. You need to take a look at what comes standard, there is chrome trim around the windows, I thought so what until I saw the cars that had the black rubber around the windows. The automatic stick shift has a nice wood grain, of course its imitation, around it. Has a CD player and cassatte, standard. I think they forgot I have a few 8 tracks in the garage. Back seat flips down and locks so the kids can fool with it.

  • I want to drive this off a cliff - 2002 Honda Accord

Where do I begin. At 60k the transmission went out on me. At 80k I have a crack in my engine block so I had to replace it. I had replaced the 6 disc CD changer 3 times now. I hear so much about how reliable Hondas are but this car isnt proving it. I cant wait to get rid of it. This car has done nothing but cost me more and more money out of my pocket. The amount of money I had spent already I could have bought something else. I will never buy Honda again.

  • Very reliable car - 2002 Honda Accord

Ive driven it for 2.5 years has 50,000 miles on it, not a single problem on it so far. Replaced 4 tires at 38,000 miles. What surprised me was when I replace the brake pads at 44,000 miles, the car shop told me the pads on lt wore less than half, which means its still good! What a brake!

  • very impressed - 2002 Honda Accord

I bought this car with 29,000 miles on it and have averaged 25,000 a year on it and have not had a single solitary problem, not one. Plenty of power for the size vehicle, gets good highway mileage. around town i get around 18 mpg, but i drive like an idiot. I also found the fold down rear seats to be useful on more than one occasion. Good stereo system.

  • Bring your own transmission - 2002 Honda Accord

I bought my Accord new because they are supposed to be low maintenance cars that run forever. After warranty expiration, I learned that "forever" is slang for until your warranty expires. Even though my car is six years old, it only has 40,000 miles on it and Im replacing the transmission. Ive learned that this is a very common problem among hondas. It does have a flimsy front cup holder that wont stay latched and has a lot of road noise when driving at high speeds. With only four cylinders, its a little gutless when getting onto the freeway. All these things could be overlooked if I could just get the transmission to let drive it.

  • Hot car, Great Ride - 2002 Honda Accord

I love this car, bought it with 30K miles on it in 2005, now at 75K, three years later. This car has not given me ANY problems at all. I have it serviced regularly. Ive gone through one set of tires and one battery. It is fun to drive, love the V-6 power. It looks brand new after a good car wash and I get compliments on it all the time. This is the best body style Honda has ever had. I will be sad to see the day I have to put the old girl down.

this is the best all around value for a sedan. No nickle and diming by dealership, car comes with everything you need.

  • The Perfect Car - 2002 Honda Accord

This car is the best value out there. For $22,500 I got a car with good exterior styling, a great interior, impeccable fit and finish, great power, great handling, awesome reliability, and absolutely great resale value. This is my 3rd Accord - I owned a 97 LX and a 99 EX previously. I absolutely LOVE the power of the V-6 on the 02. I have test driven Camry, Maxima, Taurus, BMW 3 series, Audi A4, Lexus IS 300, Infiniti I30, Mercedes C, E & S classes (all but the Benzs at Edmunds live!), and dollar for dollar the Accord blows them all away. There is no better value out there.

Excellent Car for the money. Considered Volvo S60, Acura TL, Infiniti G35 but cost was minimum of $6k less...You get a great car without the snob appeal! Considered the Toyota Camry but could not get comfortable with dealer cost..one dealer quoted 3% over cost and was $1,000 over the price that another dealer quote 4% over invoice. Thank You Toyota...you just sold the Honda!
