This Year's Model Updates:

Honda has added a new trim level for 2002, the SE. The Accord SE is based on the LX four-cylinder coupe or sedan trim level with an automatic transmission. Features setting the SE apart from LX models include an upgraded audio system, a driver seat power height adjustment, interior wood grain trim, antilock brakes, remote keyless entry and 15-inch alloy wheels.

Pros:
  • Great build quality, spacious interior, peppy yet clean engines, comfortable seats, excellent resale value, reputation for bulletproof reliability.
Cons:
  • Everybody drives one, bland personality, stiff highway ride.

  • Great car! - 2002 Honda Accord

Fun to drive! One of the things that sold us on the Accord EX V6 is the smoothness of the ride. The performance of the V6 is also what set this car apart from others in its class. See favorite features for more.

Bought my Honda new and so far i am very pleased. have to mention The uncompromising reliability of Honda...so far 20K and not a single issue of concern. I drive alot of highway, and car rides very smooth at 75mph. spacious, I am 63" and fit comfortably.

  • Need a better transmission - 2002 Honda Accord

The transmission began to jerk after 50000 miles and totally broke after 85000 miles. Spent more than $22K to get it fixed and now the driving is very smooth. There was also some transmission issue in my another Honda Accord (1996 model), which was totaled by a drunkard. Everything else is good.

  • The Honda Accord SE Coupe - 2002 Honda Accord

This is one of the most fun cars to drive. It comes with Hondas reliabilty and great handling. The fuel economy on the 4 cylinder is great. The car doesnt have the nip of the V6 but still delivers reasonable performance out of the 150 HP VTEC engine. In short, it is a real sweet car for its price

  • Accord EX 1999/4 Cyl. - 2002 Honda Accord
    By -

I looked at both the Toyota Camry and the Accord - and with both I4 and V6 engines. My conclusiomn was that if one wanted a V6, it is better to go with a Camry. For an I4, the Accord is a better car. My only gripe - offer the Accord V6 with a manual tranny, and I will not even think about a Camry !! While the car is awesome for most practical purposes, the ride is a bit on the "jumpy" side for 4+ hour trips. The "premium" stereo is a little under- powered; and while the seats seem a bit stiff, they are great for long-distance drives - as they offer excellent support. Bapcha

  • Not a Luxury car, but nice for the price - 2002 Honda Accord

Traded a 1999 Accord EX 4-cyl for a 2002 EX V-6 at closeout. Had seen internet pictures of new style 03, hated rear styling (still do!). Like improvements in 02 vs. 99: 6-CD in dash, better stereo, side airbags, better seat support in lumbar, auto climate control, better looking tail lights. 4 minor problems noted after delivery; only sunroof required 2 visits (noise, fitment). Car sometimes makes weird moaning sound like sick cow for up to 8 hours after shutdown; not taken to dealer yet. Engine power good; noise level of engine OK, gas mileage average (21-26), at least it uses regular; car has worse than average wind, tire, and road noise; handles great but very stiff city and hwy ride.

  • Honda Accord 2002 EX V6 Poor Car - 2002 Honda Accord

In June, 2002 I decided to upgrade and get the top of the line Accord. What a mistake. I have 7000 miles on the car and to date have had the steering column and transmission replaced. If Honda is known for quality, Id hate to see the product of the other manufacturers. Horrible car.

  • Just What I Wanted - 2002 Honda Accord

This is the car I wanted 3 years ago when I ended up with a Hyundai. I finally got my Accord Coupe. It is everything I ever wanted and more. Love the dark blue metallic paint, as well as the tan leather interior. Some of the interior plastic seems flimsy...but nothing too bad. The ride is remarkably smooth, and the car handles great. Overall Ive been getting 26-27mpg, the same as my Hyundai, which was smaller. Wish the headroom and rear visibility was a little better, but hey, its a coupe, and those are some trade-offs for having a coupe.
