Overview & Reviews
New packages this year include a Work Truck Group with argent bumpers and a vinyl bench seat, and a King Ranch Group with exclusive interior and exterior trim. A 4.2-liter V6 has been added as the base engine, along with a five-speed manual transmission.
- Exceptional ride and handling characteristics, attractive and functional interior designs, multiple cab and bed configurations, the most payload and towing capacity in the half-ton class.
- Feels sluggish even with larger V8, no available side airbags, not much interior storage space.

Awesome Truck - 2005 Ford F-150
By Andy - May 28 - 2:50 pmThe looks and ride are second to none. I drove the Tacoma, and the Silverado before I bought this one. Just cant say enough great things about this truck. I get compliments from neighbors and coworkers. The interior is laid out nicely, with very user friendly controls. I almost look forward to going to work just so I can drive it there.

good all around truck - 2005 Ford F-150
By winston - May 19 - 8:03 amCompared 5.4L V8 XLT 4x4 with Silverado Z71 package. So far I am really pleased with the Ford. Even with large side mirrors, there is little wind noise for this class. Steering is responsive and not numb. Relatively little body lean in turns for a large truck. Even though I go fishing and haul stuff, we also use the truck for everyday stuff like going to the store. Anchors for toddler seat are easily reached and not buried deep in backseat. Took advantage of Ford Family plan and got truck for $5K under invoice (after rebate) and much cheaper than Expedition 4x4.

Love the truck, But shes thirsty. - 2005 Ford F-150
By Patry - April 30 - 11:51 amI have had nothing but fun driving the truck. Is hard on gas. But it might be the sound of the exhaust and the cold air intake you want to hear.

Good 2wd pickup - 2005 Ford F-150
By tpiatt150 - April 30 - 1:38 amI purchased this truck new and have been very impressed. Its no speed machine nor a powerhouse but does very well for being a 1/2 ton truck. This truck with the 5 speed is very peppy for having a 4.2 liter engine. It has also performed just fine while towing other cars and pulling loaded trailers. On average I get about 22 MPG on the interstate and could not be any happier with it.

King Ranch Rules - 2005 Ford F-150
By Seniorchief Ret. - April 27 - 10:00 amThe ride and handling are like driving are great. This 4X4 rides more like a luxury auto than a truck. I have only owned it for a short period but will really get to test it this fall when I go hunting.

Great truck at a great price! - 2005 Ford F-150
By Jamison Turner - April 18 - 5:26 pmI have been completely satisfied with this vehicle from the day I bought it. It is a great designed vehicle that drives unlike what you would think something this big would handle like. It is extremely roomy and will hold five to six adults without a problem.

Ford F150 Lariat Supercrew 4WD - 2005 Ford F-150
By Reggie - April 17 - 5:30 amGreat truck. Drives great on the highway and fantastic for moving the kids around. Pulls loaded trailer with ease at highway speeds. 4WD system works good. I prefer the part time on the fly system. The leather seats are nice as well as the memory seat positions and the movable pedals. Highway feel is more like a luxury car than a truck, but it definitely is a truck when you need it. This thing is a work horse.

05 STX 4X4 Apple Inside - 2005 Ford F-150
By I-Gotta-Mac-Truck - March 19 - 5:11 pmQuiet, smooth ride, safe, reliable. As always, it is a Ford truck after all. This is why they are #1. The 4.6L in the 4x4 is not a speed demon, itll get there though. It is a great pulling truck, can handle heavy loads with ease. Last but not least you gotta admit, it is a pretty truck!
