Overview & Reviews
New packages this year include a Work Truck Group with argent bumpers and a vinyl bench seat, and a King Ranch Group with exclusive interior and exterior trim. A 4.2-liter V6 has been added as the base engine, along with a five-speed manual transmission.
- Exceptional ride and handling characteristics, attractive and functional interior designs, multiple cab and bed configurations, the most payload and towing capacity in the half-ton class.
- Feels sluggish even with larger V8, no available side airbags, not much interior storage space.

run away from this truck - 2005 Ford F-150
By frank - August 20 - 12:16 pmI owned this truck for 12 months. It has constantly been in the shop. I will name some of the problems. INJECTORS quited, broke down on way to work, had to tow in. Shifter locked up. could not shift out of park, towed in. Fuel line cracked, had to wait two weeks for parts, TRUCK is rusting on rear panel dealer repair was just bondo. No call back from Ford customer service. every now and then truck turns off while running. I recommend waiting for the new toyota tundra this summer. or looking at Nissian. Ford is Ford and It is going the way of Montgomery Wards, Eastern Airlines, Service merchandise.

best way to travel - 2005 Ford F-150
By linda criger - September 13 - 8:46 amWith over 40,000 miles in one year we have tested it. No problems. Mileage is good, power is good, ride is the best. Drives perfect. If you want the best truck on the market and American made too, this is what you want to buy. Has a top rated crash test to protect you and your family. We have been to the east coast and the west coast each two times and never an ache or pain from riding. Not bad for being seniors.

faulty transmission - 2005 Ford F-150
By John - February 21 - 12:16 pmThis is my second F150 Super Cab 4x4 King Ranch. The first one I really liked a lot, but this one has what I consider to be serious transmission problems. There is a very hard downshift at lower speeds accompanied by a very noticeable "clanking" noise. I am being told by Ford that this is "normal" for F150 series for the period 2000 through 2005. I simply refuse to buy that kind of excuse for not wanting to make the necessary repairs. My 2003 same model type NEVER had that problem. Road handing is poor, in my view. The ride is very noisy. The engine is sluggish at times.
