Pros:

I had Dodges and Chevys and they were ok. But this truck is great. This truck is everything I hoped for. Outstanding performance. I want to drive it every day, but want to conserve the mileage. Love the quiet ride. I ride in my sons RAV4 and it generates more noise than a semi. The sound deadening is an awesome feature. Because of the horsepower and the lack of engine or road noise I have to use the cruse control to keep from speeding. Had to go a second dealer. The first lost the deal over a $150 set of running boards. Pull a boat that weighs in 7000 lbs. dont even know it is behind you. I like the 5.4L Great reliability. Highly recommended.

The 2005 really is an improvement in ride and quietness over the 2003 I traded for it.

I had driven my brother Ford F-250 Lariat and I was so surprised that a truck could handle so easily along with comfort plus quietness. When the time came for me to purchase another vehicle, Ford F-150 Lariat was my choice of trucks I had been looking at.In fact, my Ford truck handles more easily than my car. My Ford F-150 is very good on gas, example, I live in Georgia and I took a trip to Jacksonville, North Carolina, approximately 390 miles and it didnt used a full tank of gasoline. It still had 134 miles to go before the big "E". Great on gas, especially now with gas prices over the hill. I wouldnt trade my F-150 for any other truck, just love driving it too much. You Check one out.

This is the best truck I have ever owned. The ride and handling are smooth and it is very quiet in the cabin. Quieter than my wifes minivan.

I love the 6.5 ft stepside bed with the extended cab look. Awesome looking vehicle, especially in black. Many people complain about the 4.6L power... but unless you are racing your truck, it is more than adequate. You cant expect 0-60s like a sports car in a full size pick up. The power has been more than adequate for me, the transmission gets it moving just fine. I got 17.7mpg on a recent 500 mile trip. Get the 35 gallon fuel tank, well worth it with the low MPG. I get about 15 day to day, which is what I am used to so it doesnt bother me much. Nice heavy truck, solid, and almost silent in the cab. Looks much more stylish than any other full size out there.

Ive owned my F-150 for almost a year now. Ive never been unhappy with my purchase. It has the horsepower I need to haul my camper around the country and it is a smooth ride.

The 2005 Ford XL V6 is now our Friday night date vehicle. It rides better than the Toyota or Honda cars we have. I love the design and the color. The truck is getting 21 MPG on 2 lane highways at 55 MPH. The gas mileage on the interstate at 70 mph is about 18.5. I am pleased with the truck and I rate it higher than the GMC I traded in.

It has the best ride of any previous Ford trucks. The frame is stiff enough to cancel out the pothole vibrations that usually shake the beds of most trucks. The V6 isnt fast, but it hauls well with the 8ft bed full of gravel. If you drive with the torque instead of revving up, it returns about 20 mpg. Dead reliable for over 30k miles now.

Great comfort and handling for a 4 wheel drive truck. Corners very well. Steering is tight and turning radius is good for a truck this size. MPG has been 12.8 - 13.2 city, 17.2 highway. Power outlet and plenty of room in back for my son and his CD player or video games. Running boards are definitely a necessity. Have had zero problems after 1 year of owner ship.

  • Great Truck - 2005 Ford F-150

Great design inside and out. This is easily the quietest vehicle I have owned, which is a surprise for a truck. Handles heavy loads without breaking a sweat from the engine and powertrain. I also like the deeper box for carrying more loose material. The 4 wheel drive works very well, but you have to be careful when cleaning since Ford designers put several blind pockets near the wheel wells which tend to fill with mud.
