  Some reviews state the cabin is too noisy. Totally untrue. The cabin is quieter than most sedans on the market and is very roomy, especially leg- room. The new body style brings back the masculinity of a pickup. The new frame (nine times stronger than the previous model) and suspension allow for excellent cornering, stability, and braking. My dad has a 2000 F150, and you can really feel the difference between the two. The new one is much smoother. The only negatives are the added weight for the new model take away some of the oomph off the line. Gas mileage is poor (13-14) although I didnt expect much.

  Same as most reviews. Ford has failed. Looks are great, but deceiving. Transmission issues from day 1 with same response from dealership, "couldnt find a problem". Now big problems post warranty. Rear differential - truck shudders upon takeoff from a turning start. 1st Ford needed new engine. Guess Ill buy foreign. So what if economy worsens and jobs are lost, atleast Ill have a truck that runs. Ford has lost all integrity

  I just now started driving the truck so far so good. lots of room and nace looks. when you punch it its slow as ever with the 5.4L. I love the deep bed and looks. I never owned a ford so idk what to expect. its deffantaly not a race truck.

  I have had 2 Lightnings an 01 and a 03 both have been problem free and a joy to own. If you like room but have a need for speed this is the truck for you. The seats fit perfect to your body and the ride is not rough at all. I love to take long trips in the truck, once you get in you dont want to get out.

  its every thing they add it was on tv. quiet fast smooth powerful great looking and an attention getter, every where i go people ask to look in it this makes me feel great. passing is NO problem with this truck its like driving a mustang at times

  Right now my truck has almost 300,000 miles and I cant say enough good things about it. It has held up so well in basically every aspect. Truck definetly does not drive like a high mileage vehicle. I got the truck with a blown up motor and it still drove! Even with a blown motor! Put rebuilt motor in now truck is amazing. Best vehicle Ive ever driven in super deep snow. It will not get stuck, even when I try getting it stuck. I towed with this truck like a dream and its great. Even trailerling with deep snow is easy. Truck has never broke down on me or previous owner. Love it!

  I bought this truck with 40,000 miles on it. It is a nice looking truck but looks are deceiving. It drives nice and rides good but the motor went out at 86,000 miles. The 32 valve 5.4 triton is a total disaster V-8 design. The overhead cam wore a keeper off of a valve and it fell into the cylinder ruining the motor. I opted to buy a used engine and still spent over $3,000 getting it back on the road. Also, the rear suspension is soft for hauling heavy loads. Truck now has 107,000 miles on it and Im keeping my fingers crossed. Another thing the front end brake rotors are garbage. I finally went to a salvage yard and got a set off a 07 model and so far are much better quality.

  this is a reply in regards to the compare it link at this website edmunds said that the dodge ram with the v-10 viper engine(str-10) whooped the svt on horsepower i beg to differ according to truckin magazine the srt had a 1/4 mile time of 14.08 sec @ 101.64 m.p.h,it has a 0-60 of 5.66 with 500 h.p, 525 #s of torque (remember that this is an 8.3 liter engine)and has an msrp of $45,000!!!!! Ouch , but on the other hand fords svt lightning ran a 1/4 time of 14.68 sec @ 98.37 mph it has a 0-60 of 6.37 with 380 h.p and 450 #s of torque and has a msrp of $33,495 yes the srt has more hp and torque but the lightning can hang with a minimal difference in specs.
