The F-150 is fully redesigned for 2004. It's bigger, more powerful and offers a greater variety of features and body styles than ever before.

Pros:
  • Exceptional ride and handling characteristics, attractive and functional interior designs, multiple cab and bed configurations, most payload and towing capacity in the half-ton class.
Cons:
  • Feels sluggish even with larger V8, no available side airbags, not much interior storage space.

The new design is stunning - friends who see it are surprised at the finishes and styling (Lariat model is at the top end in the F150 line). I like the return to classic square lines characteristic of the older F150s. It handles great - solid on the road, powerfull, great steering and cornering. This truck replaces a Mercedes ML320 and we are much happier with this than the ML. Same gas mileage but much more power and more interior room with the SuperCrew.

Fun truck to drive. Good handling and performance when purchased new. It only gets better with a lowering kit and a few performance bolt-ons. This is a performance truck with no equals when comparing cost. This truck is my daily driver that puts over 400 horses to the street. 20 minutes and a few bolts, I can increase boost from the supercharger for the track. Highly recommend traction bars and slicks for the strip. This truck rocks. Im glad I got one of the last ones. You can get this one from me whenever you pry my cold dead hands from the steering wheel.

Im driving a 5.4 liter on a extended trip. This is a very refined pickup truck. I was suprised at the intitial assembly quality and materials used for the interior. The sound system is very good and the power train is very smoooth and quiet. Very good ride. Good power, but weight uses up the poneys. No wind noise. Handles well on the turns. Flawless paint and trim. Gas consumption is 15-17mph on the freeways.

  • My new Truck - 2004 Ford F-150

Ive only had my truck for about a month but I am already very pleased with it. We took it up in the snow this weekend and the posi-tracktion and anti- slip differetials work great. I love the design and the interior noise level is beyond my expectations. The Truck was a little spendy, I payed a little over 30k for the FX4 with the 5.4l (extras- bed liner, 6 disc changer, tubular running boards, 2 toned yellow paint), but with the 1.9apr I took the deal.

After test driving other trucks. I finally decided to purchase the F150. I cant believe how smooth it rides & handles. Im definately glad I picked the F150.

I hate the electronic throttle. It takes sooo long to respond; other than that I LOVE MY TRUCK!!!

I have been over-all completely satisfied with my F150 even thought I have had to have my tranny rebuilt which is kind of expensive. I am a firm believer that you can get a good one and a bad one in anything and I believe I got the one with the tranny problem, after reading these other reviews I still believe I have a good truck, plan on keeping mine till the wheels fall off then get another one. By the way to all the folks having a problem with break squealing try putting ceramic brake pads one the truck not only does it stop the squealing but I havent had to clean my wheels since putting them on. They leave behind no brake dust.

Its a good handling truck overall. The only thing is it wears tires out fast and the front end shakes a lot. The engine at 100,000 miles had a tune up and it cost 1,800 dollars we had to replace 3 coils on the plugs. At 116,000 miles the motor went out and we spent 7,000 dollars on a new motor. The Ford company says the motors have very tight tolerances and have no room for error. The oil gummed up in the oil pan and stopped up the return tubes not allowing the oil to drain back down to the bottom end. So the oil pump failed and the cam phasers went then the bottom end. Most mechanics say its a bad design on the motor.

  • Lightning strikes twice - 2004 Ford F-150

Although I have only had this Lightning a few days, I know I will love it. This is the 8th new Ford since 1989 and I am obviously a Ford fan. The power it has and the potential for more power is almost unlimited, but I will probally leave mine stock.....maybe. The interior is VERY comfortable for 2.
