Overview & Reviews
The F-150 is fully redesigned for 2004. It's bigger, more powerful and offers a greater variety of features and body styles than ever before.
- Exceptional ride and handling characteristics, attractive and functional interior designs, multiple cab and bed configurations, most payload and towing capacity in the half-ton class.
- Feels sluggish even with larger V8, no available side airbags, not much interior storage space.

Best truck I ever owned. - 2004 Ford F-150
By Pudley - January 2 - 10:00 amIve owned several trucks and this is by far the best I have ever had. It is screwed together very well, comfortable, excellent vision to the sides and rear. The controls are large enough - no tiny buttons or knobs. Systems are intuitive and everything is within reach. Finally enough power in this truck and build quality rivals the best of the pack. Drives and handles very well even with the 18" tires. It was worth waiting for this one. Ford got it right!

Customer neglect is Job #1 - 2004 Ford F-150
By JCRedding - December 15 - 9:57 amWe bought the 04 FX4 new. For the first year it was great. Since then it has evolved into total junk. Use is very light duty and no offroad. At 25K brakes and rotors needed replaced. The AC barely works. At 46K the tranny needed rebuilt and Ford did not see a problem with that nor were they interested in my complaint. Window motors and the main switches plus u- joints replaced at the same time. This on top of $650 for the 45K mi service. Now the rear diff clutch pack is going. taking off from a stop while turning causes the truck to shudder until straightened out. With 48K now on the odo it has turned into a rattle trap. I should have payed the difference and gone back to a Toyota!

01 Lightning - 2004 Ford F-150
By jtk - November 8 - 2:00 amGreat truck except brakes. I drive hard and have been through many brake components. Rotor warpage has been a problem. The engine and entire drive train is great. I just replaced my 01 with an 03.

2004 Lariet - 2004 Ford F-150
By mdhodge - November 1 - 9:54 amBest truck I have ever owned period. Dealership is the greatest also. I have purchased trucks for the last 30 years and none have the ride or low noise of this vehicle.

Best Vehicle I have Owned! - 2004 Ford F-150
By Michael - October 30 - 9:13 amOnly problem was initial dealership paint repair. No other dealer visits in 32K miles. Noticeable increase in wind & tire noise. Ride quality is degrading but probably due to use on washboard back roads and rough two tracks (though still only minor squeaks & rattles). Interior cloth stains easily & is difficult to clean. 5.4l gets 15 mpg at 70mph - ouch!.

2004 F-150 FX4 - 2004 Ford F-150
By Alaska Wolf - October 29 - 10:00 amFord got it right again! The 2004 F- 150 is everything they claimed, and more as far as Im concerned. Ultra quiet, responsive, good-looking and surprisingly agile for a full size truck. It even gives tricked out Jeeps a run for the money off-road and pulls them out of bogs very well!!! I love my new F-150!

The truck with the stuff - 2004 Ford F-150
By Frank - October 25 - 10:09 pmMy truck had 165000 miles on it when I bought it. I have had it for a week and love it! It was very well taken care of, and nobody can believe the miles. It looks like a brand new truck with no miles on it, and drives even better! The best truck for the money- take care of it and itll run and look like new for years to come.

F150 4-Dr SuperCrew Lariat - 2004 Ford F-150
By 4-Dr SuperCrew Laria - October 24 - 6:16 pmWhilst the F150 looks great, the vehicle has experienced problems with the steering wheel "shimmy" at 65- 70mph. Also the electrical componemnt that controls the a/c, heated seats have failed?
