This Year's Model Updates:

The Pacifica is an all-new six-passenger vehicle that combines the attributes of a wagon, minivan and SUV.

Pros:
  • Exceptional comfort for four, drives more like a sedan than a minivan, top-notch safety scores, upscale interior design.
Cons:
  • Average room for six, not as family-friendly as most minivans, gets expensive when you add high-end options, fussy climate and radio controls.

Very nice ride, it fits a family of 64"+ people comfortably and has a lot of nice bells and whistles (like the low tire pressure "idiot message") Gets reasonable gas mileage for the type of vehicle too.

We got the full featured model with DVD changer, etc. Its an excellent balance between SUV solidity and the handling of a car. Weve had some mechanical problems though. The brake rotors were warped, and when the rear windows are open an obnoxious ear-deafening vibrating sound can be heard. Visibility is really bad with the small rear view window. Our driver side mirror makes clicking noise and has limited mobility; this was reported to dealer mechanic, but they didnt do anything. The tire sensors continuously go off--its very hard to keep the air balanced accordingly. Avoid dealer mechanics at all costs-- boy do they rip you off! I only get 19 MPG--which is much lower than sticker

Needing a vehicle that seats 6, but not wanting a minivan or an SUV necessarily the Pacifica caught my eye. I love the clean lines and the luxurious ammenities in this car. It provides a very comfortable ride and is fairly responsive. The number of options for the price are amazing. Particularly love the DVD player, sound system, memory seats and heated seats. The only negative is that the engine is average at best for this year. It probably would have been OK if I hadnt drove an 07 with the 4.0L. With a budget in mind, we went with the options over the more powerful engine. This vehicle was a steal for the price!

It is great to drive in long distance and enjoy quietness. I love this car. But for small people like me, it is hard to see the front and the back of the car from small windows/glasses.

  • A Solid and Fun Drive ... We love it !!! - 2004 Chrysler Pacifica

Although we have only driven our "tourer" for about 1000 miles, we have thus far pretty much loved every inch of it. Although we would still pick the MDX/ML350/RX/XC90 for quality, we fell in love with the stylish & slick design of the Pacifica. The other makes just looked like any other SUVs out there for our taste. Our only misgivings are not enough horse-power when needed, poor radio reception and too much problems with the the climate controls that we have read and experienced.

We have owned this vehicle since it first came out in early 2003. It had always had some annoying suspension clunks on braking, and the dealer tightened something and that went away for a while. While on a trip down To San Diego with four people in the car, it had a connecting rod loosen and started making the expected clunk, clunk, getting louder as we neared the final resting place, a gas station. We had it towed back 75 miles to Irvine to the dealer. The vehilce was under extended warranty and had only 58,000 miles on it, was properly maintained at the dealer. Wouldnt do it again.

Owned this car for 2 years. Drove over 2000 miles this summer on trip with wife and two small kids. Great ride, comfortable, not bad gas mileage and enough space. For the features and luxury, very good value. Fairly reliable, never stranded. Biggest problem has been air pressure monitoring system - replaced 2x. In single car accident and no one hurt - very safe. Car repaired and like new.

Nice Looking inside and out!I was very surprised it was a Chrysler. Drives nice, handles well. I do have a concern on the build quality. Im experiencing rattles, and squeaks...something I have never experienced in the 5 yrs I had my Toyota.

  • This car is an enigma... - 2004 Chrysler Pacifica

Talk about a love/hate relationship! Luckily the Pacifica leans more towards love than hate. Very enjoyable to drive, extremely well built (Mercedes connection really shows here). However Pacifica is not without problems. Awful fuel mileage (13 City/22 Hwy). Acceleration is..um..leisurely. Plenty of power, but poor gear ratios (forget 2nd). Performance is much better using the auto-stick to hold the gear longer. Rear visibility is in a word, DANGEROUS!. Reliabilty good so far (7500 miles) with the exception of new front wheel bearings at about 4000 miles. Conclusion: Do I like the car? Very much. Would I buy another? Doubtful.
