This Year's Model Updates:

The Pacifica is an all-new six-passenger vehicle that combines the attributes of a wagon, minivan and SUV.

Pros:
  • Exceptional comfort for four, drives more like a sedan than a minivan, top-notch safety scores, upscale interior design.
Cons:
  • Average room for six, not as family-friendly as most minivans, gets expensive when you add high-end options, fussy climate and radio controls.

  • Big BUCKS in GAS - 2004 Chrysler Pacifica
    By -

We just purchased ours a few days ago, paid $34395 they sold us the extended warranty and gap insurance (dumb, right?). Paid 27355 before taxes, etc. Drives nice, stereo is OK, cloth SEATS GAVE US A RASH! We get about 7.7 miles to the gallon. NOT GOOD! We thought the mileage was better, we feel very angry, wish we could take it back because at 8 miles a gallon, its gonna cost a fortune to use! Its a mini van basically. Now I heard about a POWERTRAIN recall?? Whats that all about?? Its pretty though, but the stereo sucks. Seats itch, having the moonroof put in today - wish me luck!

  • Doesnt get estimate gas mileage - 2004 Chrysler Pacifica

I like everything about the vehicle except the gas mileage. It is nowhere close to the advertised 17/23 city/hghwy mpg on the MSRP window sticker. More closer to 14.5/20.2. Inquired at dealer got unacceptable statement of that the "engine needs to break in". Thanks for insulting my intelligence, Chrysler. Called Corporate Headquarters to also be given the run around until I demanded a ticket be opened to investigate. The dealer stated Chrysler knows they have a problem. The question is will they do anything about it?

  • Pleasantly Surprised - 2004 Chrysler Pacifica

After reseaching, I felt that it was worth taking a look at. Well, my first impression after seeing the vehicle was...Wow. Really looks great. Was previous minivan owner and wanted something other than van or SUV. After test driving the Pacifica, I was hooked. I couldnt believe how comfortable the ride was. I was pleasantly surprised at how luxurious the interior was; the seats are comfortable and leg room is more than adequate. I felt that it was a really well built car. Ive owned for 3 months and can say that I really love it. The attention that the car recieves, the comfort, the overall experience has been great.

  • Good solid family car - 2004 Chrysler Pacifica

I like this car. It has done everything we needed it to do. My wife and I have three young kids and the car fits them and their car seats fine (one seat had to be taken out, though). It is much safer than any minivan out there. The handling/braking of the Pacifica is very good and definitely could factor into avoiding an accident.

ANGLE OF A-POST. ATALL PERSON WILL HIT THEIR HEAD. THE STEERING WHEEL ADJUST IS A LITTLE BIG , COULD BE MISTAKEN FOR THE TURN SIGNAL. THE RADIO VOLUME NOB IS A LITTLE CLOSE TO THE SEEK BUTTON GETS KNOCKED OFF THE STATION.THE DVD BLOCKS THE VIEW OUT THE REAR WINDOW. THE CAR IS A EXCELLENT CAR AND IM VERY HAPPY WITH IT A B+ FOR ME.

  • Very dissapointed! - 2004 Chrysler Pacifica

I was shopping for a new SUV and looked everywhere for great price. Well finally found it and this crossover has been horrible for us. First thing wrong 4 days after buying it car shuts down on expressway no reason, next oil leaking, next starts making clapping noise, next starts kicking back while driving as if changing gears! Next had to have pulley tensioner replaced now making horrible noise that wont go away, now alternator is failing! What else can go wrong, this was supposed to be my dream car n turns out to be a nightmare!

  • I guess Ive been a lucky one! - 2004 Chrysler Pacifica

Ive had my 2004 Pacifica for almost two years now & I am the 2nd owner. It rides *SO* smoothly (& weve had to take MANY road trips for work) and with my 8 month old son, I feel VERY safe. Only been to the mechanic once for a U joint--other than that, no problems at all. I have a base model, no GPS or DVD, & the 3rd row was a bit snug when me and my SIL sat back there once (and Im 58" and she is 510") but my husband is 61" and is a SOLID 245 and has ROOM to stretch in the front two rows, and has great head room. With the side air bags, I dont worry about my baby as much on the road! If I won the lottery, Id buy this car again.

  • Dont Buy One!! - 2004 Chrysler Pacifica

I bought my Pacifica AWD used in 2006 with 42,000 miles. Since then I have had to replace the inner and outer tie- rod ends, struts, axels, lower control arm, sway arm bushings on both front driver and passenger side. There still is a creaking noise in the front when you hit a bump. Mechanic has no clue what it is. Then I had a problem with the engine revving up when at stop sign the shutting off. Had to replace the erg valve control sensor.

  • many repairs at 50k - 2004 Chrysler Pacifica
    By -

Have all the bells and whistles, have had little problems. Reached 50k and now had to replace the evaporator for the AC plus drier/freon/oil for $1900. Also the front brakes for $250. The motor mounts are cracked, $700, The total repairs for this plus other items was $6,600. Never had that kind of problems with any other car I have owned.

  • Room for improvement - 2004 Chrysler Pacifica

Traded in Suburban for Pacifica AWD. Nice styling. Nice, smooth ride. Seats not as comfortable as Suburban. 14.7 mpg on last tank (significantly worse than advertised @ 17 mpg city!) Hi-end Surround Sound sys. is great IN COMPARISON AGAINST STANDARD SYS. - BUT, It falls short of other mfrs 5.1 systems (2004 Acura TL system has much better acoustics and clarity!) Navi sys is quite useful, BUT dont like having it in center of speedo. C-Pillar dangerously obstructs view.
