This Year's Model Updates:

The Pacifica is an all-new six-passenger vehicle that combines the attributes of a wagon, minivan and SUV.

Pros:
  • Exceptional comfort for four, drives more like a sedan than a minivan, top-notch safety scores, upscale interior design.
Cons:
  • Average room for six, not as family-friendly as most minivans, gets expensive when you add high-end options, fussy climate and radio controls.

We just bought it this month, so we really do not have a long term experience with it. We feel we got an excellent deal compared to looking at a new one. The vehicle rides and drives very nice. I doesnt feel as Chrysler as previous Chrysler vehicles I have owned. It could use some more power, but for what we use it for it is great. I have faster, more powerful vehicles for that.

In my expeience, this car is fun to drive. You have the room of an SUV or minivan but you dont feel like you are just a soccer mom in it. It feels a little bit flashy, like you are a mom with some style. I drove it to the mall a couple days after purchase and I could not believe the great turning radius it has getting into a tight parking spot. It turns on a dime and handles beautifully too!

With less than 27,000 miles, we have replaced the A/C control unit, the stereo, and an air pressure sensor. We have had the front end practically rebuilt, and the check engine light is on again for who knows what. Its a very nice looking and comfortable piece of junk.

We were looking for a car that was sporty but had a third seat. We love the ride, which is quiet, the interior set-up which is spacious, the ease of using controls, and my wife really likes the heated seats. When I first bought the care it was recalled immediately (power train chip) and the tire pressure monitor did not function and needed to be changed. But nothing since and we now have 3500 miles. On the first trip I got 23-4 mpg and have been averaging 18-19 in city so not bad but I hope for improvement. The car is underpowered and shifts into high gear quicker than my wifes Bonneville which gets better mileage running at lower RPMs.

This vehicle is a compromise between a sedan and a minivan for us.We make a long trip each year and have a lot of stuff to take with us. It is fun to drive, has acceptable gas mileage. We are averaging about 18.1 city and highway. It has plenty of cargo space which converts into passenger seats easily. We would buy again at this time, but we have only had the car about two months.

  • Great Car - 2004 Chrysler Pacifica

The Pacifica design was out in front and the first of its kind. The style is great and by the looks of all the new 2007s every one in the industry thinks so too. The only real problem I had was the mileage. The first 42,000 miles the best mileage I could attain is 16 mpg. Then for some reason I started to get around 20. The car is built on the e class platform from Mercedes and the only real improvement I would request is a Mercedes diesel engine. I had the oil change regularly and had no service problems with my car. The mileage and the ratings of safe cars will determine if I buy another.

I have had my red Pacifica for over 3 years now and I consider it a very comfortable and well made vehicle. Its cornering capabilities are unsurpassed for a vehicle of this size and weight. Its AWD system works very well in steep snowy hills and heavy rain. The ride is firm, controlled and comfortable.

We have had our Pacifica for 12 months/12500 miles. The car itself is pretty cool,DVD, Nav. system, moonroof, Intermezzo radio, etc...but the reliability is so shaky. Weve had the engine half out to fix the tranny and transfer case(2 wks. to fix!), lost count of the electical problems with computer syst./Nav. syst./dash cluster/fuel guage/radio/airbags..the list goes on. the mileage is a flat out, complete lie..I live in FLAT south NJ and we get 13.2 average! so I dont know who these people are that AVERAGE 20MPG w/AWD

  • I like my Pacifica - 2004 Chrysler Pacifica

We have had this vehicle for 6 months. We have taken several 1200 mile trips. WE like how it handles and the way it rides. The gas mileage is ok but would always like to see it be better. My wife uses the vehicle each day going back and forth to work. Her average in town has been 19mpg. Driving 80 mph on the interstate we get about the same.

  • Great idea/poor quality - 2004 Chrysler Pacifica

Many problems in 6000 miles-some major/some minor. Chrome molding at top of doors not aligned. Gauges and sensor problems. Recently, rear wheel froze while driving-still in shop. Wheels are rusting(Chrysler rep says ordinary wear and tear). The wind vibration is high when windows and sunroof are open. Ceiling liner fell down twice. Have not been able to attain gas mileage estimates on window sticker. Dealer is great, but car is a pain in the backside
