Overview & Reviews
The TrailBlazer gets a host of minor interior improvements this year. Seating has been restyled and boasts comfort and quality improvements. Detail changes include revised chrome accents, trim enhancements and a new instrument panel appearance. Among the new options are an audio system with CD/MP3 compatibility and full-length side curtain airbags (which replace last year's front-seat side airbags).
- Strong engine performance, comfortable highway ride, extensive features list, user-friendly controls.
- Skittish handling around corners, numb steering, generic interior design with mediocre materials.

Noisy - 2005 Chevrolet TrailBlazer
By j. m. - September 10 - 1:02 pmI got one because I thought it looked good and it was a Chevy which made me think reliable. I have a 03 Blazer with over a hundred thousand miles no problem at all. With less than ten since I bought my 05 TrailBlazer with 30 thousand miles Ive changed the water pump, power steering went out and the windows howl at high. Speeds due to bad weather stripping around the doors. The engine does have plenty of power and it handles well.

Wih high gas prices, these are cheap! - 2005 Chevrolet TrailBlazer
By Rick0822 - August 21 - 12:23 pmHave had this vehicle for about a month. I traded in my 10 year old Sunfire, and yes I miss the gas mileage, but its OK. So far it has been great, weve put roughly 1000 miles on it trouble free. We did buy an extended service contract for the length of the loan, other reviews have been subpar, so we didnt want to chance it. With gas prices so high we paid $13K, and it had a window sticker of $36K. We bought it planning to only keep it around for 3 years or so, but we might go long term. Personally, I wish we would have bought the 3rd row V8, gas mileage isnt that much worse. We just couldnt find one low mileage with an LT option package.

Expected More - 2005 Chevrolet TrailBlazer
By lou - July 21 - 10:30 pmNot a bad ride but I find myself "strapped" in and confined inside the driver seat. Theres no space to put anything inside. Its a lower ride than the Explorer. I havent had to use 4 wheel drive yet. The sound system is excellent. If you have kids or use it for carpooling - the back has its own climate controls, as does the passenger front.

Personal use - 2005 Chevrolet TrailBlazer
By c.a. voorhies - July 13 - 1:20 amI have owned 5 Chevy Surburbans and the Trailblazer handles as good. It pulls heavy boats and trailers like a much bigger vehicle. The fuel economy under load is excellent. The car is fun to drive, and handles like a high performance auto.

By j. robertson - July 12 - 10:00 amwhat a good all around vehicle! i am glad i purchased my trailblazer, great engine and looks, it lacks some qualities like the flimsy tailgate handle and keyless entry, but what a good ride i would recommend it to anyone

OK - 2005 Chevrolet TrailBlazer
By NIKKI - July 6 - 7:50 pmWe bought our second GM SUV this year it seems to be a nice vehicle. It delivers a very comfortable ride. And fuel economy well, it is an SUV. Not so great. It does tow well. We tow a 21 foot boat and it handles well. Overall I would buy another TrailBlazer.

Im lovin it - 2005 Chevrolet TrailBlazer
By Luvin my ride!! - June 15 - 9:36 pmI got my Trailblazer for my 25th birthday from my wife because I was a little jealous of her Envoy she had purchased from 2002! I love the way it handles and when you floor it it moves! Gas mileage could be much better. I get 16mpg in mixed driving. I drive about 34 miles a day, and we go vacationing a lot down south, so I drive alot!

Think twice before buying - 2005 Chevrolet TrailBlazer
By Ambivalent Trailblzr - May 2 - 6:21 pmMy wife always wanted one so when they were cheap in 2005, I finally agreed, even though I knew deep down it would be a mistake to buy another truck. It drinks up gas like theres no tomorrow. Resale value is poor. Other than that, it looks nice, it drives nice, it has plenty of power, lots of cargo space with seats down. Its good at what it does. Weve had problems with steering - fixed under warranty. I wish we leased it rather than bought it so we could be done with it. 12-13 mpg around town on a really good day. 10-11 is typical. On the hwy 18-20. We had a 95 Suburban that got the same mileage. Think twice before you buy!
