Overview & Reviews
The supercharged Impala SS joins the lineup for 2004. Besides offering 240 horsepower, the SS features a tightened suspension to allow it to take corners with a bit more gusto. Base and LS models have redesigned bench and bucket seats, and a sport appearance package is now available on the base sedan.
- Six-passenger seating availability, good crash test scores, torquey V6 engines.
- Vague steering, soggy suspension on base and LS models, low-buck interior.

Runnin Strong at 46k - 2004 Chevrolet Impala
By jarett - December 26 - 12:40 amI bought this car for 13,000 with 25,000 miles on it. Body perfect, interior perfect. As soon as I bought the car I changed the trannsmission fluid and out and put in synthetic. Flushed out the dex-cool anti-freeze because it is notrieous for gunking up and put in synthetic. I havent had a problem yet. Its very responsive, I installed a KN cold air intake and only run it with 93 octane. This model has the 3.8 l 3800 which is Chevys most reliable engine ever made, a little bit of care will go a long way.

Sporty Family Car - 2004 Chevrolet Impala
By bkgg - December 3 - 2:00 amI went from a mini van to the "hot" sporty family car! I had a Dodge minivan and had nothing but problems! The heater never worked! It squeaked like a dogs toy anytime you turned the wheel and/or hit any type/size of a bump in the road. Im back to GM products and staying! Built to last!

retired - 2004 Chevrolet Impala
By mike12 - December 3 - 2:00 amHi guys after owning chevs since 1970 i naturally chose one to start into my retirement with .Can say i am happy with the overall performance, but not to happy with the ride the tires give i find they are hard riding and noisy the dealer agreed and is trying to work something out with G.M. other than that the only thing i find wrong is the back seats are a little hard for long drives. sure would be nice if they came back with the 5.7 eng . I will look closer next time i buy a new car .Hope everyone has a great yr.

Road Sense - 2004 Chevrolet Impala
By tom c. mc loughn - December 3 - 2:00 amThe best thing about this car is its ability to allow me to relate to road conditions. On a rain soaked highway this car feels very stable and drives that way . In snow and ice the traction control takes over and once again the stability feel is there . I call it road sense. My experience with higher priced cars that lack that road sense (Acura) give me an uncomfortable insecure feeling.
