Overview & Reviews
Now into its third year of production, the Impala soldiers on as Chevrolet's bread-and-butter family sedan. Minor upgrades this year include standard dual-zone air conditioning, an AM/FM stereo and LATCH child seat tether anchors. A leather-accented 60/40 split bench seat will be available later this year on LS models, and two new exterior colors have been added.
- Six-passenger seating availability, good crash test scores, torquey V6 engines.
- So-so styling, wallowy suspension,low-buck interior.

So far good value - 2002 Chevrolet Impala
By SueZee - June 11 - 10:00 amI purchased the Impala in May of 02. I looked and drove foriegn sedans as well. I bought the top of the line. It has more bells and whistles then I could have thought of. Mine came with On-Star as well. The hands free phone although expensive, is a lovely addition for a hard working mom who needs to stay in touch. The pick-up is descent as well as the handling and fuel economy. Respectable crash test ratings and a price that couldnt be beat are what sold me. Now I have to see if it stands the test of time.

Love it! - 2002 Chevrolet Impala
By Susy - May 13 - 2:00 amI just got my Impala. Hey everyone, this is 2003 now, dont compare it to and old version of the Impala. It rocks and looks good too! Lots of room, but sharp looking and drives well for me. I dont even feel the tranny top out it is so smooth.

Good Experience Turns Sour - 2002 Chevrolet Impala
By Fiji111 - May 9 - 2:00 amMy car performed great until around 17,000 miles. Heater core cracked and soaked my passenger carpet with coolant. A number of rattles have developed. Bad odor coming from vents required the dealership to install a special blower fan (aparently there is a GM bulletin on this issue so it is not unique to me). Ride is bouncy. Road/tire notice is too extensive for a vehicle in this price range.

awesome car - 2002 Chevrolet Impala
By Connie S. - April 29 - 10:00 amComfort on long trips A++++! We love our Impala for its style, speed and performance. It took me a while to get used to the quick acceleration at traffic signals! Wow! The heated seats are WONDERFUL in the winter. The only thing I find a bother is the emergency brake pedal. My foot hits it when entering and exiting m

2002 LS - 2002 Chevrolet Impala
By jcm - March 23 - 2:00 amThe car is solid and rides nice. Good for long distances. In quick turns, the back suspension feels like its tracking is off. Been plagued by minor electrical problems since purchase, windshield washer that would turn on with left signal use, remote entry system receiver failed, instrument cluster problems such as resetting while driving and broken tach. On third instrument cluster. So far, all covered under warranty. Just worried that these minor items are a hint at something major.

#1 Value & Features - 2002 Chevrolet Impala
By ko - March 5 - 2:00 amBought this vehicle 3 weks ago from a Chevy dealer as a lease return that originally went on the road less than 12 months ago. At 34% depreciation from new with 2 years factory warranty left, how can they sell them new? The car has greatly exceeded my expectations. Virtually no body flex, very comfortable highway ride and great fuel economy. This car is actually turning out better than the Accord or Camry I previously test-drove and thought I wanted. Highly recommended.
