  • best truck ever built - 2004 Chevrolet Avalanche

This is by far one of the versital trucks ever built. Im somewhat of a do-it-yourselfer and have had no problems transporting 4x8 sheets of drywall, all without it being exposed to the rain. Fun to drive truck gives you both a pickup truck and sportutility all in one.

I purchased this as a pre-owned vehicle to supplement my prior truck on account of a growing family. It has been excellent! I am pleased that its value still exceeds what I paid for it. We recently purchased a travel trailer, and it tows with an ease that makes one feel a trailer is not present. The only repair I have had is the power window motor on the passenger door - a common problem with GM trucks.

  • It "aint" my old farm truck - 2004 Chevrolet Avalanche

Stylish, comfortable and fun to drive. This truck is fully equipped with all the bells and whistles including on star and XM radio. Comfort is high on my priority list. The interior space is very comfortable and roomy, including the seats and with the Driver Convience package, every thing is easy to reach. The 5.3 leaves a little to be desired on the getaway and the breaks are a little to firm to the touch and stopping the truck takes a little getting used to. Over all, it is the best truck of its class that I have ever owned, and I have driven pickups for more than 45 years.

  • Love it! - 2004 Chevrolet Avalanche

Best riding 4x4 and maybe vehicle I have ever had. Much better seats than in Chevys pickup line. Fuel economy is average 16-18mpg. Tows well and is good off road. I put 20,000 miles on a 2003 and traded it off on a 2004.

After owning the Avalanche less than a week it was struck on the driver side rear door by a full size car traveling 35 m.p.h.+ and was spun off the road and down in a ditch Not only did the vehicle stay upright my 2 small children in the back seat escaped injury from the impact

  • Great - features no other vehicle has! - 2004 Chevrolet Avalanche

We bought our truck new and have driven it for 5 yrs. My husband just had an accident, rolled the truck twice, and both driver and passenger survived (well) in what onlookers thought would be a fatality. The structure of the truck saved them. Very comfortable on long drives, love the interior, flexibility of car to truck. Great for farm, pulling trailer, 4x4, dogs, people, you name it - it does it. Added backup sensors - well worth the cost as its hard to see with backing up. Would love to buy another one!

  • Transmission Stinks - 2004 Chevrolet Avalanche
    By -

The transmission on this vehicle went after only 2 1/2 years, and at 42,000 miles. I dont tow with it, or use it for work. Most of the miles on it are highway, none off road or abusive. Chevy didnt want to know anything. They told me I should have purchased an extended warranty. This in my opinion, is telling me that they know the Chevy Avalanche is substandard and I will have problems with it. I dont know of any car company that backs their product less then Chevrolet. Im very disappointed with Chevy.
