This Year's Model Updates:

The big news is the arrival of the A4 Cabriolet, a fetching drop-top version of the A4 sedan. Initially, the company will offer only one drivetrain choice -- front-wheel drive with the 3.0-liter V6 engine and continuously variable transmission. Expect to see a 1.8T version midway through the model year and a 3.0 quattro Cab by October 2003. No word yet on the possibility of a manual transmission. As if this weren't enough, Audi plans to release a coupe version of the A4 in early 2003. The rest of the A4 lineup benefits from equipment upgrades. Leather is now optional on all 1.8T models, as are 12-way power front seats. All 3.0s will come swathed in leather, with more deluxe leather optional. Previous stand-alone options for the 3.0, including xenons and satellite steering wheel controls, have been swept up into the Premium Package. A new cold weather package includes seat heaters and a ski sack, and 17-inch all-season tires are a stand-alone extra.

Pros:
  • Available all-wheel drive, classy interiors laden with amenities, stable handling.
Cons:
  • Price goes up quickly with options, engines a little short on low-end torque.

The 1.8T is not a race car but has plenty of power. I recommend Quattro if you live w/inclimate weather or want road handling performance. Solid ride quiet on the road. Solid thunk when closing doors. Dash and center console are logically laid out. Easy to use controls Bose stereo has more than ample power and sounds crystal clear. Seats are very comfortable up front a little tight in the rear but youre not hauling family. Its a thoughtfully laid out car with easy to use amenities plenty of power all surrounded by well sculpted sheet metal that looks great on the road. I love my 1.8T

  • Small car handling, large car elegance - 2003 Audi A4

In the short two months since taking delivery, the A4 has been nothing but trouble free and enjoyable. Sure, the back seat is cramped for adults (just to get that out of the way). But it performs in so many ways...it can be a sporty car in the twisties or a relaxed cruiser on the highway. Styling inside and out are top shelf. Material quality is first rate. Youll wear out the owners manual learning the all the clever features and amenities. The A4 gets 28+ mpg on the Interstate, is ULEV certified and is at the top or near the top in the insurance rating on 5 mph bumper bash test. Perfect? No, but is any car?

22,000 miles now and the car is just getting stronger.Impecable build quality.I have not figured out yet why people do not buy cars with AWD.With the quattro I just plow on like the terminator through rain and winds. No real problems to date , only a turn signal bulb and xenon bulb needed to be replaced. Great car, Waiting for the new S4,

I have only recently traded my 1998 A4 and am mesmerized by the new engine and the incredible interior ergonomics and Quality. This is truly a better version of the previous generation A4.

  • Perfect combination ... - 2003 Audi A4

I have owned several convertibles from Triumphs to Mercedes, I have never had one as perfect as the Audi A4 Cabrio. Imagine a car that treats you well when cruising the boulevard and at the same time lets you throw it into a corner at heart pounding speeds. A car that handles like a sports car but lets you take 3 friends along for the ride. Ar car that makes your 10 wife look like an 11 and gets you all the looks you need. PERFECT.

The 03 Audi A4 has been a blast to drive. One word-QUATTRO! I do not think I will buy another car without AWD. Audi design is impressive. Very nice interiors. Excellent paint finishes. The 3.0 has hussle, but may be less impressive at low torque. Cons: Brakes squeek, interior wind noise at higher speeds 70-80mph. Overall awesome! Wish I had the S4!

Ive had (and loved)a 3 series BMW, but this car is even more fun to drive. The Quattro AWD gives the car a feeling of adhesion to the road thats amazing.

  • Near- Perfect Car - 2003 Audi A4

Handling quality is superb! Quattro eliminates slipping on fresh snow, hardpack and ice. Xenon headlights provide unmatched night visability. Cockpit comfort for 62" 225 pound driver needs improvement. Center platform rubs on right knee. Driver left arm rest not very comfortable Premium spoke wheels quickly gather snow and ice which destroys wheel balance all around until the vehicle is stopped and the material physically removed. Aside from these small issues, the car is safe, exiting and well worth the money.
