Overview & Reviews
The big news is the arrival of the A4 Cabriolet, a fetching drop-top version of the A4 sedan. Initially, the company will offer only one drivetrain choice -- front-wheel drive with the 3.0-liter V6 engine and continuously variable transmission. Expect to see a 1.8T version midway through the model year and a 3.0 quattro Cab by October 2003. No word yet on the possibility of a manual transmission. As if this weren't enough, Audi plans to release a coupe version of the A4 in early 2003. The rest of the A4 lineup benefits from equipment upgrades. Leather is now optional on all 1.8T models, as are 12-way power front seats. All 3.0s will come swathed in leather, with more deluxe leather optional. Previous stand-alone options for the 3.0, including xenons and satellite steering wheel controls, have been swept up into the Premium Package. A new cold weather package includes seat heaters and a ski sack, and 17-inch all-season tires are a stand-alone extra.
- Available all-wheel drive, classy interiors laden with amenities, stable handling.
- Price goes up quickly with options, engines a little short on low-end torque.

Nice Near-Luxury Compromise Convertible - 2003 Audi A4
By JJoNNeSS - July 4 - 2:00 amI went with 3x black with everything cept the navigation. Car is a nice compromise if you want a stylish, sporty conv., but need the back seat (kids) and a smoother, quiet ride than a roadster. MUST adjust the steering wheel and seat if adult sits in the back. Car is not 2 fast off the line due 2 its weight. Extra structure makes the car solid & quiet. Ill probably switch 2 a roadster once my youngest is older. Drove Z3, MR2 Spider, C70, Honda, etc. This car beats them for driving comfort, but doesnt have that shot-out-of-a-canon feel... It beats the Lexus for design. Had problems with the rear windows not going down the whole way.

A4 3.0 Quattro Sport - 2003 Audi A4
By utahsnowrider - July 4 - 2:00 amAn excellent car. 3 month/5000 mile review, had to wait for winter use before reviewing. I had a BMW 325xi picked out until I drove the A4. Many more features, larger trunk, larger motor, better vehicle for $3800 less. Smooth, quiet, handles well on snow packed roads, will slide on ice like all vehicles can. MPG is same as listed on window sticker. I suppose I could drive a little less aggressive but that wont happen in this fun car. A little slow off the line, but that ends quickly in the mid-range power band.

Awesome, Awesome, Awesome - 2003 Audi A4
By bate119 - July 3 - 9:52 pmAudis Quattro AWD is simply breathtaking. Snow, ice or rain, this car cuts through it like butter. In fact, we used it instead of our Ford Explorer in the snow, ice and rain last winter. Its also easily the best handling car Ive ever owned! German engineering at its best! The red lights illuminate the dashboard at night, incluing two red LEDs that project downward from the ceiling, creating a cockpit-like environment. I am now a dedicated Audi driver forever, never follow!

Good buy - 2003 Audi A4
By Mark H - May 8 - 3:17 pmIf it werent for the annoying electrical problems (3 headlight and 2 turn signal burnouts) Id rate the reliability excellent. The A4 is fun to drive, has decent gas mileage and the quality of build is excellent. It handles wonderfully and even with the small engine, it has plenty of zip in all situations. I love the surefooted AWD especially in our Montana winters. Ill definitely buy Audi again.

2003 Audi A4 3.0 six speed - 2003 Audi A4
By deme55 - April 27 - 10:00 amThe 2003 A4 3.0 is a very well made vehicle. As with most German built cars, this A4 is very responsive, stable, and for the most part, comfortable. Soft with a slight rigid feel over bumpy road, very responsive with a tap on the accelerator, and corners extremely well although 3- series BMW have the edge in cornering. Along with gorgeous styling, the A4 is a sheer pleasure to drive.

A4 vs Passat - 2003 Audi A4
By kinnman - April 26 - 2:00 amVery nice car, but coming off of a Passat, I was dissappointed in both the ride and the mpg. We are averaging about 24mpg w/ 70/30 Hwy/City vs 28mpg in the Passat. Still only 1500 miles, I hope it improves. The ride was much better in the Passat. Also, the Audi has the same cupholders as the Passat did back in 2000 - in the arm rest - worthless! VW moved the cupholders next to the emergency brake, why didnt Audi? The Audi handles better due to a stiffer suspension. All in all, I would recommend the Passat and save a few bucks.

Audi A4 3.0 AWD 6M - 2003 Audi A4
By calamato - April 21 - 10:00 amJust purchased an Audi A4 3.0 after driving a VW Passat for 3 years. So far, I am very pleased with all this car has to offer. Performance wise, I think it is among the top in its class. It is extremely comfortable, although this may not be the case for rear passengers. The interior is ultra luxurious, and the exterior is classy. However, I do think the navigation system on the A4s need much improvement. (You only get an arrow to tell you which direction you need to go).

2002 A4 1.8 TQ 5 - 2003 Audi A4
By crasc - March 20 - 2:00 amGreat Car! If you like performance drivin, do not expect the Gas mileage posted. Also I find my back a little after extended driving time. And what did audi think by offering ONLY manual seats. The sports Package with the 17in wheels is a must at only $1000
