Just bought a 2010 Prius 3. My husband had really been wanting it so finally pulled the trigger. Has a nice ride but the acceleration is awful unless you put it in power mode. I dont feel comfortable merging or going uphill. Great gas MPG of course but other than that nothing special.

Had the Prius 3 weeks and really enjoy driving it. Big change coming from a 4Runner SUV. Debated between Camry hybrid and Prius, but Prius was $3,000 less with more mpg. Waited 5 weeks to get it; still waiting on a couple of options to arrive for it. There is a lot more road noise than I expected on rough roads. Smooth roads are a quiet, excellent ride. Handles very well and parks so easily.

I drive alot!! I put over 13000 miles on this little car since october 09. I have had no problems so far. With winter tires I get 43-44 mpg, and thats mostly at 74 mph. Windy conditions are a challenge for the prius.

  • do not buy. drive & quality poor - 2010 Toyota Prius

I hate it, wife loves it. had the car 2 months and it is covered in dents from acorns (tree above our parking space). this is not just my car, I have looked for and seen this in parking lots on several priuss. drive is not comfortable, poor seats and acceleration makes the gas engine rev wildly but have little effect. interior ceiling feels like recycled cardboard. (feel roof when you test drive). rear view mirror shakes with stereo base. only use is for short runs where you dont go over 30mph. (wife uses it for these) unfortunately I drive 99% on the freeway and the car shakes at 55mph (center console esp.). windshield fogs up quickly at all times.

Had a 2006 - this 2010 is a totally different car in many ways. I have every possible extra (not LKA version) and not only is it comfortable, has 4 way seat adjustment, sun/moon roof and solar, but it also has lots more room than the 2006 had. The blizzard pearl paint never looks dirty, even after a spring thaw on country roads. It was worth the few extra $$ to get this level of comfort in a high mileage hybrid - and the 2006 trade-in held its value enough to make the upgrade costs minimal. What an upgrade!

  • Surprisingly fun car to drive - 2010 Toyota Prius

So far, I’ve been driving it mostly on the highways and only get about 42 – 45 MPH on those trips. I haven’t been able to get to the 50 – 55 MPH range some of the other people reported. I mostly drive in the ECO mode. I know that it’s designed to get a better mileage in the city driving. I will be switching to city driving next month and will probably be able to achieve a better mileage. Some people complain about the continuous chime in reverse. The dealer can switch it of by modifying one of the settings of the car. I had my dealer do that before I picked my car up. The EV mode is not as useful as I thought it would be. Most of the time, I can only go up to 10 MPH in EV mode.

  • A stellar car - 2010 Toyota Prius

I waited until I put on 2000 miles before reviewing as I was afraid my initial enthusiasm would cloud my judgment, but nothing has changed. This is a terrific, well-designed car. Many comments here lament the lack of power, but it scoots fast enough for me. In fact it feels MUCH faster than our 96 Civic - Love the CVT. So far I have been averaging over 51 MPG (calculated, over 53 mph displayed) and I have not been trying hard. I have a 12 mile commute with a suburban-highway-city mix. Toyota really thought out all the details. Everything is where it should be and form follows function well here. (ps. The reverse beep issue that others raise is easily solved for free at the dealer)

I had previously looked at the 2009 and decided to wait due to a couple of features I didnt really love. After driving the 2010 I am so glad I waited. This vehicle is the best hybrid made and every other "hybrid" pales in comparison. I drove the Civic mild hybrid and the Insight before the Prius and there is no comparison. First of all, the Hondas arent fully hybrid and the fit and finish cant compare with the Toyota. The acceleration is a major improvement and the ride is sooooo quiet. I am going to keep this car forever and laugh all the way to the bank.

  • Ultimate Space Ship - 2010 Toyota Prius

The car drives like a space ship. I get between 42-50 MPG average gas millage. It is not what some other owners have posted; however, this is just insane gas millage. I love everything about my car. The ride with 17 inch tires is a little bit on the firm side; however, it is still very very comfortable. As other people say, the car makes you learn how to drive all over again... Lots of people have complained about Toyota service (recalls), but please go to another dealer. My dealer has been very responsive and did ECU upgrade for an hour. Still, I could not complain about anything in the car prior upgrade. World is a better place with 2010 Toyota Prius! Enjoy it!

  • Awesome Car! - 2010 Toyota Prius

I love my 2010 Prius. I have never experienced less than 55 mpg since purchase and it is just fun to drive. It is very comfortable for extended trips and has a great dash display that I can see. I do not like behind the steering wheel displays.
