  • Excellent car - 2010 Toyota Prius

I was surprised at some of the reviews indicating care was uncomfortable etc. I have never written a car review before, but the 2010 Pirus is such an excellent car, that it deserves a review. I now have 29,000 miles. I track the mileage on most fill-ups, and my average is 48.7mpg over more than 27,000 miles check. Mileage is best in rush hour traffic, worst for short trips of 3 miles or less and when driveing higher than 65 mph. I find the car fun to drive around town and VERY comfortable on long trips, much more so for my back than previous 1990 Maxima and 2001 Avalon. We originally assumed that we would only use it in town, but now use it as exclusive choice for long trips. No issues

  • Has been to the dealer twice in a wk - 2010 Toyota Prius

Bought the car less than 4 months ago. Happy with the gas mileage. Three times I had to jump stat the car. The fourth time, even after charging, the car would not start. I called the Toyota emergency service, was told there is no free towing service for the Prius. We had it towed to the dealer. They reset about 8 codes and said the car was fine. Two days later at noon, the car would not start and had to jump start and took it the dealer. They charged the battery and said it is fine. I think this model has some electrical problem. They should have tried a new battery, but did not do it. The display panel in the middle of the car is not ideal. To look at it, you have to take your eyes off the road.

First hybrid owned. Amazing amount of interior space; most versatile small hatchback around. Interior fit and finish a little disappointing (large gaps on chrome trim on steering wheel) and the color matching on the hard plastic surfaces is peculiar. "heads up" display of steering wheel controls not particularly useful; soft control buttons annoying. Handles well for a car with 15" tires. Have noticed the braking issue on uneven surfaces, though. Getting 55+ mph combined mileage without driving abnormally.

  • 2010 Toyota Prius IV with NAV - 2010 Toyota Prius

This is the 2nd best purchase of a vehicle I have ever done and I have no regrets so far after over 400 miles. I used to have a 2007 TCH and traded in bought a 2010 4Runner LTD 4WD V6 with NAV and traded in to this beauty 2010 Toyota Prius IV with NAV and my experience so far is what an amazing vehicle. Only regret is I did not purchase it earlier and instead of the 2010 4Runner

  • Mostly Great, some problems - 2010 Toyota Prius

Mostly a love this car. I really wanted the plug in version, but decided it wasnt worth waiting. If you live somewhere with snow and ice, you should also be prepared to purchase very high quality winter tires--I recommended this to a friend of mine with Prius two years ago, it solved the problem of a light car on an icy hill. I have noticed the reported break problem twice in three months--even though it was supposed to be fixed. The bigger problem for me is a very high pitched whine which comes from the engine in warmer temperatures. The dealer wants to say its normal, but none of my friends with earlier models report it. Thats the only really annoying issue I have with the car.

  • I love my Prius, too! - 2010 Toyota Prius

Bought my 2010 Prius (my first Toyota) to replace my 2003 Altima (with 280,000 miles!). I am impressed with how brilliant its design philosophy is, and, of course, the amazing fuel economy (53 m.p.g. actual average over the first 10,000 miles). I love driving it, I feel more relaxed and no longer "sweat" traffic jams and red lights as much as before. Compared to the Altima I am saving ~$40/week at the current fuel prices. I think I will always buy hybrid cars from now on!

  • Great car for college students - 2010 Toyota Prius

Got mine 2010 Prius II just before Xmas. Love the redesigned exterior. The interior plastics, not so much. EV/ECO/PWR modes are nice distractions. I now spend half as I used to at the pump.

  • Green car with... - 2010 Toyota Prius

Got our Pkg II Prius in Oct, after about 3000 miles thoroughly happy with the car. My heart leaps out in joy when I see it cost less than 30$ for a full tank, and that too once in two weeks (had a V6 Camry before). Love the styling, mileage (get about 49.5 mpg), Eco/Power modes, telescoping steering...

  • Great Hybrid! - 2010 Toyota Prius

I love our new Prius III. Great fuel economy. Just over 500 miles on vehicle and averaging 49.4 MPG. Only on my second tank of gas, averaging 55.2 on this tank. Interior well designed with above average materials. No new car problems whatsoever. Exterior fit and finish is top notch as well. CVT transmission is very smooth. JBL sound system very good. Bluetooth link flawless. Displays busy at first, but Im used to them now. This car is everything I was looking for...and more!

  • So far very pleased - 2010 Toyota Prius
    By -

We got our Blue Prius III almost a month ago and are very pleased so far. Living in Vermont, we had the car delivered with snow tires on it and between those, and the ever-cold tems, we are averaging just 40mpg so far. But that is to be expected under the conditions. I expect around 50 when temps go up and the LLR tires go back on. With the snow tires, the car has been very good on the snow covered roads and I highly suggest that anyone dealing with regular snow falls run dedicated snow tires on this car. Im a big guy, 6 tall and 300+ and this car fits very well. Only negative so far is a plethora of squeaks and groans from the hard plastic dash... worse in cold weather.
