Overview & Reviews
All 2004 Jeep Libertys now feature a passenger-side grab handle and a power accessory delay feature, while Renegade models get additional rock rail protection and black accent body side moldings. New options include UConnect, Chrysler's hands-free in-vehicle communication system, a tire-pressure monitoring system and a cargo organizer. Safety is enhanced thanks to a system that unlocks doors, illuminates interior courtesy lights and shuts off the fuel pump after airbag deployment. A new trim -- the Jeep Liberty Columbia Edition -- has been introduced, offering 16-inch graphite-painted aluminum wheels; graphite-painted fascias and body moldings; body-colored fender flares; a sun roof; fog lamps; and Columbia badging.
- Extremely capable off-road, creative interior design, still a Jeep at heart.
- Thirsty at the gas pump, not as "carlike" on the street as most of its competitors.

Scottish Jeep Cherokee review - 2004 Jeep Liberty
By Andy Park - December 29 - 2:00 amChanged to Jeep from LR Freelander for off road ability. Now used extensively offroad in Scotland French Alps. Tiring to drive round town due to weight and control effort required ( manual . Great long distance cruiser- lots of space and very civilised. Chassis build quality is fantastically vault like but surprisingly its unreliable with fan belt sawing thru badly positioned coolant pipe in first 1000 miles, frayed wire causing warning lights to come on and diesel leaking from injector. Superbly plush suspension offroad though surprisingly low ground clearance at sump means lots of noise when rock hopping though no damage to date.

By lrpena - December 24 - 10:00 amAfter owning several other jeeps I thought on giving the liberty a try and have not been disappointed at all this is a true Jeep at heart. If youÂ’re looking for a True SUV that doesnÂ’t require truck driving skills look no further.

By ELIZCF18 - November 16 - 2:00 amDriven Jeep YJs for 15 years and this is a nice change. Had to lift the front end 1.5 inches to make it level though. Much better looking and visability now.

Excellent Car - 2004 Jeep Liberty
By ybbag1 - November 10 - 3:13 amDespite poor gas mileage I would buy this car in an instant again. It is extremely comfortable and fun to drive. The steering wheel radio controls and heated seats make it an extra nice drive! The information panel makes me feel safe and updated on whats going on with the car, problems or needed maintenance.

Practical AND Fun - 2004 Jeep Liberty
By darkprince - November 9 - 6:30 pmBought my Liberty Renegade used - 40k miles on it. There are some minor quirks to it I find annoying, but overall I love my Liberty! I found documentation in my owners manual from the previous owner- apparently the transmission issue was handled by him (Thank You!). This Jeep is a ball to drive and handles better than any SUV Ive ever driven. One note: Lose the Goodyear RS tires. They slip on wet roads; they wont get the opportunity to try snow/ice. No way!

Wonderful with flaws - 2004 Jeep Liberty
By camrice - October 18 - 3:52 amWonderful car, fabulous on the highway or in the city, good engine noise down low, and a great throaty roar up top. Short wheelbase makes parking a breeze but sacrifices ride comfort and interior space. 5 people is a squeeze unless one or more is a small child. fun to drive in the city, corners well when not driving extremely aggressively, perfect for whipping around backstreets. However, when you really push it it does feel like it will roll, which is a sacrifice made to provide ground clearance for off roading. Speaking of off roading, this thing can handle anything a sensible person can throw at it. Indiana snow is no match for the 4-wheel drive, weather in low or high settings.
