Overview & Reviews
For 2004, the Grand Cherokee gets a factory-installed DVD navigation system integrated into the radio. Columbia, Freedom and Special Edition trims are also new for 2004. All of these models incorporate subtle cosmetic touches and equipment upgrades. Additionally, each Columbia Edition Jeep comes with a complimentary Columbia parka.
- Powerful 4.7-liter V8, all-terrain capability, roomy comfort for four.
- Noisy and unrefined, questionable reliability, trucklike on-road handling.

3 generations of Jeeps - 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Donald1 - December 24 - 10:00 amA 2004 Overlander was purchased last year with only 1903 miles. My 1993 is still running strong with 178,500 miles and show no signs of faultering. I spent about 4,000 dollars at 103,000 miles to over haul miscellanous parts and tune-up from had to toe. The money was well spent, this truck will last at least another 5-6 years. The overlander is a nice truck, very fast, nimble and nice ride, the back seat is tight for 3 adults. No mechanical& electrical problems yet only the side Overlander emblems had to be replaced due to the plastic lamination started peeling back.

GrandCherokee is a good SUV - 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By lisa c - December 24 - 10:00 amIts fun to drive, comfortable and manuverable. I think you get what you pay for with Jeep. If you are looking for a luxury model of the SUV, go with the Limited or Overland. And make it a V8. I got the V6 because I wanted to have a smaller gas bill and "pickup" and acceleration of the jeep arent important to me. They are nice, a classic sports, beach, family & friends, great for shopping, traveling & they are roomy. Just do your appraisal and look at all your options before making your decision

Jeep Cherokee Laredo - 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By bikermom - December 9 - 2:00 amHaving enjoyed my Jeep Cherokee Sport 2 Door 6 cyl, for a full 10 years, it was time for a new toy. Price, performance and spirit where high on my list of wants in a new machine. I kept coming back to Jeep. The Laredo was the right size for my shopping and travel needs. I am hoping this will give me at least 10 reliable years of fun, like its predecessor.

Unreliable - 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By George - November 26 - 10:00 amI bought the 2004 GC Overland in 2006 with 27,000. I have had nothing but issues with this unit. Brake rotors (at 27k), all 4 window motors, seat heaters, ac had to be replaced, seat motors, the roof was rusting, power steering pump.. the list goes on..you name it. I loved the vehicle when I purchased it but let me warn you, these are a maintenance nightmare. Avoid Jeep, I have spent over 5k in repairs over the years (most happened right after the 36k warranty expired.) I gladly traded this nightmare in for a Toyota, my first foreign car. (I previously bought from the big three however cant risk or afford another situation like this.) To hell with Jeep and Chrysler!

Wisconsin experience - 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Burley - November 22 - 2:00 amHeadrests too low; access to windshield wiper/washer controls and access to headlight controls a little constricted and difficult to see selections through the steering wheel. Comfortable front seating, handles well,is sufficiently responsive, interior appointments well done. Information center upgrades over previous years a nice feature.

I love this Jeep - 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Callaway Girl - November 16 - 2:00 amI love this Jeep, it would be the perfect vehicle if it got better gas mileage. I feel confident driving it where ever I take it. We camp a lot and show dogs so we are off road many times, does great.
