Model Overview:

The Jeep Grand Cherokee is one of the pioneers that ushered in the modern midsize SUV in the early 1990s. Jeep has always wanted the Grand Cherokee to be maneuverable enough for urban duty, roomy enough for family duty, stylish enough to take out on the town and capable enough to tow your toys or shuttle your passengers to a remote campsite. Modern Grand Cherokees are far more refined than the early models, but they're no less versatile.

Unlike most other traditional SUVs, the Jeep Grand Cherokee has always been built using a carlike unibody platform for superior on-road handling. Yet Jeep's strong reputation for off-road prowess is retained, thanks to the Grand Cherokee's advanced four-wheel-drive systems and capable suspension. It's a rare combination of attributes in a modern utility vehicle, as the Jeep is able to venture farther off the beaten path than competing crossover SUVs.

  • Best in Class! - 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee
    By -

This vehicle is just the right size. Spectacular engine. Looks great. I took if off road last week and it really impressed me! The only complaint I have is for a few more inches of leg room in the back (Im 62"). But I would not want the Grand Cherokee to be any bigger, so I cant complain. Interior is very nice. Sound system is incredible! Love everything about it ... I also test drove a Toyota 4Runner because my buddy is a salesmen at a local dealership. Eeven with a money hookup it was a waste of time. It is a wannabe Jeep and does not come close. I am very pleased with my Jeep!

  • Glad I made the switch - 2009 Jeep Grand Cherokee

I have only ever driven GM vehicles. I decided I wanted to upgrade to a SUV. I had done a lot of research online and had narrowed my choice to a Jeep Grand Cherokee or a Ford Edge. I had actually decided on the Edge. After the deal fell through, I took another look at the jeep. The dealer allowed me to take it over Memorial Day weekend and by Monday I was sold. I love the way it handles, the security and peace of mind. Mine came with the touch screen radio and my gig. I got the Rockie MT Package and it has everything I wanted. Take another look at Jeep!!

  • Lovin My Overland Thus Far - 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee
    By -

Ive had this Overland when it had 49 mi. and 3,000+ later, still lovin it. Ive had no problems with my Jeep. Ive been getting 14+ mpg city/16+ mpg highway on my HEMI, better than my previous 04 Jeep G.C. with I6 engine. Simply an overall great luxury model, which is affordable to maintain.

  • Happy so far! - 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee

I love everything about my 2001 Limited Jeep so far. Ive only had one problem. I had to replace the front brakes because of a shimmey in the front end. Best looking SUV on the road today, bar none.

  • 3 generations of Jeeps - 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee

A 2004 Overlander was purchased last year with only 1903 miles. My 1993 is still running strong with 178,500 miles and show no signs of faultering. I spent about 4,000 dollars at 103,000 miles to over haul miscellanous parts and tune-up from had to toe. The money was well spent, this truck will last at least another 5-6 years. The overlander is a nice truck, very fast, nimble and nice ride, the back seat is tight for 3 adults. No mechanical& electrical problems yet only the side Overlander emblems had to be replaced due to the plastic lamination started peeling back.

  • GrandCherokee is a good SUV - 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Its fun to drive, comfortable and manuverable. I think you get what you pay for with Jeep. If you are looking for a luxury model of the SUV, go with the Limited or Overland. And make it a V8. I got the V6 because I wanted to have a smaller gas bill and "pickup" and acceleration of the jeep arent important to me. They are nice, a classic sports, beach, family & friends, great for shopping, traveling & they are roomy. Just do your appraisal and look at all your options before making your decision

  • THE TRUE SUV WORK HORSE - 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee
    By -

Aside from using it as a commuter car, it was used as a utility truck carrying anything from logs to pavers to furniture, etc. A transmission leak was noticed on the 7th year which was never really "fixed" by anyone=although it never gave u a big problem=no breakdowns. Additional minimal problems up until the AC conked out on its 10th year. Had the freon loaded just to get through the summer. After the winter of 2008, we traded it in for an import. Overall, a very pleasant experience. Very reliable vehicle.

We have had very few problems. Did do the brakes twice but other then that Jeep has been a great vehichle. My wife uses it for around town and with kids. Change oil & general maintenance every 3000 miles. I think this is important and explains lack of problems. I would buy another one.

  • A lot more car for the money!!! Nissan is dead to me. - 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee
    By -

This car replaced my 2012 Nissan Murano SL AWD. Before I test drove the Grand Cherokee I swore by Nissan... Imagine my surprise when I found out that for the same $ I can be driving a v8, have real leather, navi, xm and a bunch of other things, like ground clearance, a lot more safety features, way better built body and (most importantly),an extremely reliable 4x4 system that NEVER overheats leaving me stranded! I love this truck that feels like a truck, despite being almost the same size as Murano! I test drove so many suvs and crossovers before getting this one with 20" wheels... No words, for the money (and otherwise) this is the best car you can get, bar none. Nothing else can compare.

  • Pain to drive - 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee

This car is a great looking car. I can also say that its one of the most difficult cars to drive that Ive ever driven. Its hard to keep it on the road when youre driving along at 75 mph with a tractor trailer passing you. It will blow you off the road. Buy the Pathfinder. I wish I had. The wife said this car looked more sophisticated. The Pathfinder would have been more secure. I know because Ive driven them. If you want to feel safe taking a turn dont drive this car. Looks great, horrible ride.
