Overview & Reviews
The 237-hp R32 makes its debut for 2004 complete with a six-speed manual transmission and 4Motion all-wheel drive. The GTI sports restyled 16- and 17-inch alloy wheels. There's also a new fuel cap warning light.
- Potent R32 model, fun to drive, reasonably priced, lots of standard equipment, premium cabin materials, utility of hatchback design, available six-speed manual.

Pocket Rocket - 2004 Volkswagen GTI
By Ratbert - July 18 - 2:00 am3rd VW along with a current BMW. Solid construction, great amenities. Leather, stereo system excellent. While I use it around town, would not have a problem with a lengthy trip.

I love my 2004 GTI - 2004 Volkswagen GTI
By Steven A. Smith - December 7 - 10:33 amI love my 2004 GTI as much as when I first bought it. I have owned it for almost five years and put almost 100000 miles on it. It has been in the shop twice for repairs, AC and blown cam gasket, It has never left me on the side of the road.

GTI 1.8T - 2004 Volkswagen GTI
By bgreene - November 30 - 10:00 amMy choice of an everyday driver/sportcar. Compared to Japanese cars (celica, civic si) this car actually has a little torque. Very solid and fun to drive.

Patricks GTI - 2004 Volkswagen GTI
By GTI Man - November 4 - 2:00 amI have experienced many cars of a variety of makes and models. The VW Gti is one of my favorites, and as far as an affordable economy goes this is by far the best. A true masterpeiece of German engineering (that of which is constantly taking new strides) and in motion this car is quite a performance. From my experiences this car can be a total adrenalin rush given the proper conditions. On my scale for an economy stock car Ill gladly give the Volkswagen GTI a 10!

Good value for money! - 2004 Volkswagen GTI
By buachaill_og - October 29 - 2:00 amThis is a beautiful little car and a lot of fun to drive. Its very responsive and very lively for a four cylinder engine. It has great build quality inside and out. I got it fully loaded with everything and it cost me $21,500. I like German Engineering, you definately are more in tune with the road and automatic is definately a waste of money. Manual is your only man:-)

Damn, its fast! - 2004 Volkswagen GTI
By VW gal - October 24 - 10:00 amThe whole process of getting the car was a breeze. The dealership was very very friendly, not pushy at all, like the Nissan and Toyota dealerships here in the Pasadena area. Now, back to the car... this little hatchback is fast! I can barely notice the turbo lag. It comes with a lot of standard features: ABS, side and curtain airbags, full spare. The quality is superb. I know you have probably heard about how VWs are unreliable, but they have had all the problems worked out on the 04 models. Ive had this car for almost 3 months now, and I am still very much in love with it. Get it, you wont regret it.

Review - 2004 Volkswagen GTI
By DDP - September 22 - 2:00 amA great car which is super reliable. The styling is a little plain but and outdated. The VR6 engine is great though a little more power could be needed. But, a great car overall.

2004 VW GTI VR6 - 2004 Volkswagen GTI
By Adam - August 12 - 7:30 pmFrom the day I owned this car it has been a pleasure to drive. VW has a knack for incorperating feel into thier cars. My GTI has more feel than almost any non german car I have driven. Some people do not like to feel the road while they drive and just want to be as disconnected from the driving experience as possible. If you are one of these people do not get a VW. But if you are passionate about driving you will not be dissapointed with this car.

Love it - 2004 Volkswagen GTI
By Lehnman - August 4 - 2:00 amI love everything. It is built very well and flies. I like the smoothness of the manual. It seems like there is always more than enough power. One thing is there is a rattle on the inside and I hate rattles. Back right side.
