Overview & Reviews
SR5 models have new 16-inch wheels, and a limited-slip differential is available on V8-powered trucks. No other changes are in store for the 2002 Toyota Tundra.
- Silky V8, Toyota build quality, less-than-full-size maneuverability.
- Lacks wide range of choice offered by domestics, somewhat uncomfortable front seats, meager rear cab room on Access Cab, chintzy interior trimmings.

Great new truck - 2002 Toyota Tundra
By krumps - March 31 - 10:00 amMy 6 cyclinder Tundra has way more power than similar Chevy trucks I tested. Load hauling is great, even up hills! Should have bought this truck before I bought my last Chevy.

Tundra 2 Dr Longbed - 2002 Toyota Tundra
By shell910 - March 31 - 2:00 amI enjoy my Tundra Longbed because its a basic pickup with no frills with just excellent quality in everything. Toyota interior design and ergonomics are great. Its a good long distance vehicle also with great pulling potential and long bed capacity.

Dont buy if TALL - 2002 Toyota Tundra
By ztnalb - March 31 - 2:00 amJust purchased the standard cab,Tundra w/ bench seat a week ago and have developed serious pain in rightleg and knee. I figured I was buying a full size truck and need not worry about leg room. I was wrong! Im 65" the truck has plenty of head room but lacks leg room. the bench seat provides NO support for my right leg, I use a pillow to support the leg which helps for the accelerator but not the brake pedal. The brake pedal is the worst! You lose almost another inch when applying the brake because it sits higher. Unfortunatly my test drive was mostly on the freeway in this postion Im relatively comfortable, but city driving is painfull when applying the brake.

Great Pickup! - 2002 Toyota Tundra
By I Vernon - December 12 - 4:30 amI got the stripped model 2DR V6, A/C, roll-up windows, no cruise control, approx. $18,500. This is really a fantastic vehicle except for one nagging problem. The front brake rotors consistently become warped from overheating about every 20,000 miles. The so-called fix is to buy new star adjusters for the rear drum brakes. This does not solve the problem, and Toyota refuses to issue a recall notice or assist owners with this problem. They just sell the star adjustors which do not solve the problem. In standing behind their product, Toyota is becoming more like the U.S. auto producers!

Good Truck - 2002 Toyota Tundra
By Luke - December 2 - 12:00 pmTruck handles great and I have damaged it a lot and never any damage to the tough frame. Toyota has made a very reliable truck, I have put 80000 miles on it and have had no damage to any parts or engine, all damage has been cosmetic due to me. The only thing you have to do is change the oil and brakes. I would recommend this truck to anyone.

Differential problems - 2002 Toyota Tundra
By Hauffmanstuppe - October 7 - 2:00 amWonderful quite ride on the road, off road is a pleasure driving also. I dont think it is a serious contender when 4X4 climbing comes into play. Just over 27,000 miles I take it off road a lot, blew out my front differential/and axle. Warranty to cover.

Tundra the Titan - 2002 Toyota Tundra
By ncgent - September 18 - 2:00 amI have had this Tundra since last August, over 9500 miles on it. I have pulled a 20 boat - no problems - I did not spend the extra 3500 for 4WD, but did get the limited-slip diff., and it helps alot pulling my boat up a ramp. Runs flawlessly, plenty of "gitup and go" even with a full load. Its quiet with superb road- manners. I checked out the F-150, Dodge, and Chevy, quality and reliability of the Toyota speaks for itself. Glad I chose the Toyota! It is pleasing to the eye inside and out, good ergodynamics, incredibly comfortable around town and on road trips. The Tundra is a Titan among pickups!

Great Truck - 2002 Toyota Tundra
By steve m - July 26 - 10:00 amPURCHASED THIS TRUCK FOR FAMILY USE AND AT HOME ISSUES. I HAVE NO PROBLEMS PULLING A BOAT, HAULING A "FULL" LOAD OF CONCRETE OR WOOD. THE TRUCK IS VERY COMFORTABLE AND I LOVE IT! I HAVE HAD NO PROBLEMS SINCE OWNING IT AND WOULD PURCHASE ANOTHER ONE AGAIN SINCE MY SON BELIEVES I SHOULD GIVE IT TO HIM WHEN HE GETS HIS LICENSE. IVE PULLED A FEW FORDS OUT OF DITCHS WITH NO PROBLEMS
