This Year's Model Updates:

After being fully redesigned last year, the Toyota Tundra enters 2008 with only minor changes, such as the expansion of the base "Tundra Grade" trim to all body styles and additional standard features for the SR5 and Limited trim levels.

Pros:
  • A wide range of cab and bed styles, potent 5.7-liter V8, brawny tow ratings, spacious passenger quarters, numerous safety and convenience features.
Cons:
  • Cabin has a lot of hard plastic and a few ergonomic flaws.

I work in the plant that builds the Tundras so I know a lot about them and plus I just bought one a few months ago so I am going to be as honest as I can be about it. Overall the Tundra is a great truck but like all other vehicles it could have some improvements. But Toyota does a lot of things to there vehicles that the domestic companies do not do like Toyota puts sealer on the edge door seams to keep from rusting and spray pvc under the vehicle and in the wheels wells to reduce road noise and to prevent rust, sprays antichip along rocker panels to prevent rock chips. I think all of these extra little things add up and is what makes Toyotas good reputation.

I luv my truck but Im limited on distance before I run out of gas you would think Toyota would be smarter bigger truck bigger tank and I cant add an auxiliary tank because of emissions so I have to carry gas cans when in the mountains or desert especially pulling my toy hauler because that gas goes to my toys glad my son needs a truck Im buying a F250

Crewmax does not compete price wise with the american market, but its the best money can buy. Smooth quiet powerful and comfortable.

The new Tundra in my humble opinion is the best fullsized truck on the market. Fantastic power, turning radius, styling and capabilities. Toyota has finally hit the mark w/ this all new Tundra. It drives like a car. Precise handling and whisper quiet.

  • First Toyota - last truck ever! - 2008 Toyota Tundra

If someone wouldve told me ten years ago that today I would own any truck other than a Chevrolet (especially a Toyota), I wouldve died laughing at them. I bought a left over 08 model for my wife and she cant keep me out of it. The performance for a full sized truck is amazing. My daily driver is an 06 Nissan Altima SE-R, and the truck is as fun to drive as the car is. Im actually thinking about getting rid of the car to buy one of the Tundra TRD Sport Editions for myself. Gas mileage is my only complaint, HOWEVER, I knew it wasnt going to be great when I bought it. Lets face it, in order to tow 5 tons, you gotta give somewhere. Having said that, it still gets 18mpg on the highway.

This will be Tundra #3 for me. While I enjoyed my last Tundras this one is by far the most capable. Excellent acceleration, braking. Cant wait to hook it up to my travel trailer and see how she tows! Like the comfort and conv. items in the interior. Turning radius is awesome! Special ordered mine took a bit to get but worth the wait. If youre in the market for a full sized p/u, youve got to give the all new Tundra a look. I drove the others and found the Tundra to be superior. The Dodge was cheap looking int., the Ford rode terribly. The Chevy was a close second but reliability scared me away. The Titan is a joke, no payload.

  • Great Truck! - 2008 Toyota Tundra

It came down to either this truck, or a Dodge Ram and I jumped at the HUGE rebate offered back when gas was over $4 a gallon. The exterior and interior look similar (better IMHO) to the Dodge. Everyone, to include Dodge, Chevy and Ford owners love my truck. The MSRP was over $32K and I got it for ~$24 with TTT, running bars and a 10 year 100K miles Bumper to Bumper warranty. The only 2 things I dislike are the MPG and the CHEAP radio. I drove a Suburban previously, so I was use to the MPG plus, that was why I saved over $8000. The radio also was the standard one and there was no way I would pay for the Limited package. Almost 18,000 miles and only had to get the radio replaced.

  • Great truck wish I could buy another - 2008 Toyota Tundra

Purchased the truck brand new in January 2008. So far Ive done some light to moderate towing with it, driven it on a few trips, and I have to say its very comfortable to drive, tons of room, tows great, and pretty good gas mileage running around empty on trips. Average 16mpg city/22mpg highway. Bought a Toyota because of the reliability and because its built in the USA. I have no complaints about the truck. At 25,000 miles and 0 issues it sure beats the Chevy I used to own.

  • Scary fast and comfort! - 2008 Toyota Tundra

Downsizing from a 2500 diesel to this was easy. The cab room was awesome and the truck will move even with a load. No need for a 2500 with this truck and handles like a car. Completely impressed with the quality and the safety extras Toyota puts in their products stock!

  • Big and Powerful Truck - 2008 Toyota Tundra

Biggest truck driven so far. Sometime it felt like driving a school bus because its so big inside and outside. Love the Big V8 and Big brake. Truck is very quiet and firm on the roads. The only thing I dont about this truck is that it uses too much gas. Getting around 14-18MPG on mix driving. Got to trade it in for Tacoma or 2nd home equity loan soon because getting expensive to fill up the gas tank. I dont understand how millions of people can afford to drive any Big V8 everyday because I cant...
