Overview & Reviews
SR5 models have new 16-inch wheels, and a limited-slip differential is available on V8-powered trucks. No other changes are in store for the 2002 Toyota Tundra.
- Silky V8, Toyota build quality, less-than-full-size maneuverability.
- Lacks wide range of choice offered by domestics, somewhat uncomfortable front seats, meager rear cab room on Access Cab, chintzy interior trimmings.

big bang - 2002 Toyota Tundra
By omfsdoc - March 12 - 10:00 amHad my Tundra struck from behind while stopped at a red light. Causing complete destruction of the offending 2002 Chevy Envoy. The Tundra had to have a new bumper and and the bed repaired, but no damage to the heavy frame or the rest of the truck. You could not imagine that these two vechicles were in the same accident. As the state trooper said...Im going to by a Tundra next time I need a truck.

Killer Truck - 2002 Toyota Tundra
By Big Koso - January 3 - 10:00 amPlenty of power in this truck. Toyota trucks are no joke, giving serious competition to domestics. I am not normally a foriegn car/truck kinda guy, but I fell in love with the Tundra. Take one for a test drive, you wont be disappointed

Great Truck, but You Need to Know... - 2002 Toyota Tundra
By the3rdfinger - October 24 - 10:10 pmI just purchased this truck used with 100,000 miles on it. Since then I have discovered two things you need to watch out for on this truck: 1. The 4.7L V8 is an interference engine. The service interval is 90,000 miles. If you allow the timing belt to break, it will destroy the valves. Be sure you take this maintenance item into consideration. Have the water pump and idler/tensioner pulleys replaced at the same time you have the belt serviced. Expect to pay $500-$900 for parts and labor. 2. Toyota has issued several recalls for excessive frame corrosion. Check to be sure the frame is not excessively corroded and that the recall items are taken care of.

By tundra - October 1 - 7:33 pmSimply put, my Tundra is a damn good vehicle. It works well in snow, mud, gunk and on highways that have pavement.

The best truck - 2002 Toyota Tundra
By Mr B - August 28 - 10:00 amThis is my third Toyota, but my first toyota truck and the truck is a dream. I plan to buy the truck at the end of my lease and do a few things to it. Like suspension upgrade to TRD. But overall Toyota has never failed me with over 120000 on average that I sell my toyotas and they are still running like a top. No service needed just oil change. Get one.

Lexus Truck - 2002 Toyota Tundra
By john melendez - April 22 - 10:00 amThe Toyota Tundra TRD V8 access cab is by far the nicest, best performing and most comfortable pick up Ive owned. Ive owned every pick up model exept Dodge and will never own a pick up again that is not a Toyota. I think they should put leather seats in them and sell them under the Lexus name; they are that good. Only complaint is the front rotors warped after 8k miles, but that was covered under warranty. May I say again, if your buying a pick up, get a Toyota....... John Melendez, Austin, TX
