Man I love this truck - 1995 Toyota Tacoma
By jss5724 - February 20 - 11:16 pmI bought this truck last year after my wife and I bought a house. I needed to get rid of my car payment and needed a cheap, reliable truck, so this fit the bill. Got it for $2800 with 145K, bald tires, and a dented bumper. I changed out some of the parts that would likely leave me stranded (battery, starter, cables, alt.) after my starter went bad. I changed ALL fluids, cleaned it up and now I feel like I have a new best friend. The bed has enough room to hold all of the supplies I need to keep me busy doing yardwork all day. My wife is a doctor now and I have the opportunity to have a REALLY nice car, but I continue to drive "the old goat" anywhere and everywhere. Thanks Toyota!

Dependability - 1995 Toyota Tacoma
By Tacoma Extra Cab V6 - January 30 - 12:20 pmVehicle gave adequate warning when something needed repair. Do not like belt drive for camshafts and water pump. Both require replacement at 60000 miles.

Durable Truck - 1995 Toyota Tacoma
By Meross - December 11 - 3:16 amThis truck is fantastic. 182,000 miles and going strong. Drives like new, never breaks, and super reliable. This truck has never broken down- never- and starts every morning like it was new. Original clutch, original starter, original alternator, never a valve job, and the thing still averages 20mpg combined city/highway. This is simply a terrific small truck.

One of best vehicles ever made. Really. - 1995 Toyota Tacoma
By Truck Guy - June 13 - 1:13 pmAfter 170,000 miles of 4WD mountain trails (hard core kayaker and climber), highway trips, towing, hauling, being lent to friends, pulling stuff heavier than rated capability, etc., this truck runs like it did when I bought it new 12 years ago. Its been a second vehicle for years now, and I often meet guys who have 400,000+ miles on these trucks. Ive never had an iota of trouble with this truck (except for ripping the antenna off in a car wash). This is a truck that will go 500,000 miles, easy. Plus, its still quick and fast (110 mph). Still looks relatively good. Wouldnt ever sell it. If you were lucky enough to buy one of these, dont ever sell it.

230,000 mi and NO repairs needed - 1995 Toyota Tacoma
By Sean93535 - May 17 - 2:00 amBriefly, I am the original owner and have only had to do maintenance. Well there was that body work, but that doesnt reflect on the reliability of these trucks. I am spoiled by this vehicle and am afraid to buy a new one because my standards have become so high. Another tidbit, It still has the original clutch, and I have never babied it!

Reliable and No Major Repairs - 1995 Toyota Tacoma
By Pergo - May 12 - 10:00 amI bought my Toyota pickup used with 15K miles on it. Having owned it for 6 years and driving it back and forth between CA and AZ many times, I can truly say that this little truck is awesome. With 128K miles, no major repairs have been needed. It is fun to drive and economical. Reliable and highly recommended.

Family Heirloom - 1995 Toyota Tacoma
By Bobby Joe - January 13 - 8:43 amI love my truck! I bought it new when my son was 3 years old, he will get his drivers license in 2 months and will become the new proud owner. Everything is still in good condition with this truck, its a little scratched but no engine work whatsoever. I had some brake problems years ago, that is the extent of its repair history. Very reliable, highly recommended.

I love my Toyota - 1995 Toyota Tacoma
By jackie - October 30 - 11:40 pmI bought this truck in 98 with 37k miles. I have 153k on it now. Had to replace the shocks, the brakes twice and battery. Low cost vehicle with great zip and I average 26 MPG on hwy and 23 in the city. Starts up everytime, I just love this truck! I am glad to read that people have over 200k with no problems as well. Cant find a better truck out there.
