  • 2000 Tacoma SR5 TRD Extended Cab - 2000 Toyota Tacoma

This is the 2nd toyota truck Ive bought. Mechanicals in this truck are far better than my 1988, but interior materials are too cheap. Driver arm rest falling apart, various plastic parts are breaking. Driver seat is built for 58" and Im 62".

  • My Best Truck Yet! - 2000 Toyota Tacoma
    By -

I bought this under the premise that these vehicles are excellent and reliable. So far, all of the accolades seem to hold true. The ride is very truck like but the seat is comfy for my 6 250Lb frame. The cab could use more room, but is sufficient. Econmy is good for the roads I. I avg 19-20 on these roads, and get near 25 mpg on the valley flats. 4WD is exc and treads excellent in deep snow and very good on ice. The motor purrs and the 5 sp trans shifts smoothly. Im real happy with this truck, this lil Tacoma is doing more than I expected.

  • Truck Perfection - 2000 Toyota Tacoma

This truck was by far the best automobile I ever had. The only time I had it in the garage was when I got my oil changed. No problems whatsoever and I beat the heck out of it. I went off roading somewhat often and drove through 20" snowstorms with ease. Gas mileage was not great, but it is a 4X4 truck. I reccomend this truck to anyone. It fits three with ease, and it good for long trips. Never should have traded it in an my mustang.

  • love my 2000 Tacoma 4cyl, 4WD, manual trans. - 2000 Toyota Tacoma

I bought my 2000 Tacoma in 03 with 32K miles on it. It brought instant satisfaction from bumper to bumper. Ive never had a vehicle that I found so fun to drive in city and highway alike. I now have about 175K miles. I had the water pump replaced 2 years back and a few bearings too, but otherwise its been maintenance free. Now its time to pass it onto my driving age son and I will buy a newer Tacoma very soon. Its been a problem free, well built, fun to drive and fairly good mpg. I get around 320miles per tank in 2WD and about 290 in 4 WD. Im gonna miss her but its comforting knowing my son will be off to college in a reliable and fun truck.

  • I love my truck - 2000 Toyota Tacoma

This little truck is a beast, and more reliable than you can imagine. I bought it with 30k miles and have put 80k on it since. I have driven it all over Oregon and put it through its paces. I have taken it off road, put hours of stop and go traffic on the engine and loaded the bed with concrete and dirt with only one problem. The thermostat went out on a three hour trip to the coast. After I fixed the problem the truck has recovered just fine and has gotten the job done every time. It has 110k miles on it and the only thing I have ever had to do is change the lubricants, tires, and thermostat. Reliable. 18mpg winter/21 mpg city.

I love our Tacoma this is the second one we have owned, out first Tacoma was a 1997 Tacoma Single Cab, EXCELLENT!! But sold it to upgrade to a newer and "bigger" one, well at least we needed the extended cab. But I have nothing bad to say about this vehicle, it runs and is a great looking TRUCK!!

  • 190K and still running great - 2000 Toyota Tacoma
    By -

I bought this pickup used and have put 160K on it. Ive replaced the U joints- the only thing ever done over routine maintenance. I live in the country, lots of hauling and dirt roads. I love this truck and will never be without a Toyota!

  • They dont make them like they used to - 2000 Toyota Tacoma
    By -

This is the 2nd Tacoma my husband and I have owned. We bought the 2000 because we loved our 92 so much, but they sure dont make them like they used to. The inside isnt as comfortable as our other toyota. The clutch squeeks, fenders have faded & rubber between truck & fenders has come completely off one and is coming off of the other three. The interior has cheap components. Bought a Dodge Ram for myself, paid the same price as the Toyota and my Dodge is by far a better quality truck. I told my husband when we get rid of the Toyota that is it for us, no more Toyotas.

  • High marks for 2000 Tacoma XtraCab 4WD - 2000 Toyota Tacoma
    By -

Have had no problems with this truck since new except a water leak (wet rug) which the dealer managed to diagnose & fix on the first try (a grommet located on the fire wall was leaking.) I previously owned a 94 Tacoma (hilux) Reg Cab 4wd and found it to be a nice little truck; but Ive found the 2000 to be much more refined and comfortable, by a long shot. The 2.7L 4 cyl has surprisingly good pick-up with the automatic trans, just dont plan on moving too fast with the bed loaded.
