Daytime running lights are now included with the antilock brake package. There are also two new colors as well as a color-keyed package for those who like the monochrome look.

Rolling-On - 2000 Toyota Tacoma
By mr.podater - June 14 - 10:00 amI purchased my Pre-Runner XCab July 2000 having a growing family, needed the room but gas was an issue. I chose the 2.7L 4 over the 6 for that reason. To date and 26,000 miles later, I havent second guessed my decision. It has the necessary power from stock once broken in to merge into the highway and pass cars. I dont advise riding at 80mph++ but it does that and a bit more. Cabin noise is acceptable at higher speeds. Use the power button when towing for faster shifts and improved power. Overall, I love my truck!! Wouldnt be caught driving anything else.

Wheres the bumper? - 2000 Toyota Tacoma
By KBI - June 14 - 10:00 amBoth this pickup and my Civic 2000 dont have real bumpers. Maybe this is the way they make them today. It will cost you if you his something. The transmission and clutch (std 5 spd), is the worst of any vehicle Ive driven of models built since the 1950s. I have to shift carefully to get anywhere near a smooth shift. By the way, I was raised on a farm and *know* how to shift. The pickup gets good mileage and the engine runs well and supplies all the power I need.

Great truck, but obviously a truck - 2000 Toyota Tacoma
By Carnut - March 28 - 6:46 pmHad the truck for a year, and no major problems to report. Drives through 2ft of snow like its nothing, tows like theres nothing there. I was disappointed by the gas mileage - around 15 MPG around town, without a load. Ride is terrible with the TRD package, but its in line with my expectations for a truck. It also has a very clunky manual transmission. Has had numerous annoying interior rattles, which I did not expect on a Toyota. It also feels quite tippy and has a lot of "bump steer" even on slow corners. All annoyances aside, its a great truck. I like the simple, uncluttered styling, inside and out. It is very "trucky," but it feels solid and should last forever.

Would recommend... - 2000 Toyota Tacoma
By JCF - January 9 - 10:00 am...this truck to anyone. Bought mine in Oct 2000 and have 75k miles. Overall dependability is beyond reproach. Been tremendous fun and plan to keep it for some time ( dont care for the exterior changes on the 2001+ models).

Love my new used Tacoma! - 2000 Toyota Tacoma
By Sammi - October 20 - 7:50 pmI live in Mexico, bought the truck in Tijuana, then gave it the ultimate test drive down Baja. Got about 24 mpg and never felt a need for more power than the 4 cylinders (5 sp. standard) delivered. Enjoyed getting to know the truck, love all the little comforts (sliding dual cup holder, snack rack in the back, nice little stereo etc.). Has sprayed in bed liner, sliding rear windows and other nice touches.

Pleased with my purchase. - 2000 Toyota Tacoma
By Silkey - July 16 - 10:00 amPurchased this Toyota a few months ago. I like everything about it except the comfort of the seat. Im older now than I was when I owned my last Toyota pickup. I didnt mind the seat then. It could use a little more padding. Truck runs great and I anticipate it will for years.

Good Dependable Truck - 2000 Toyota Tacoma
By kmbrandt - June 14 - 7:56 amI would say that the truck is a little over priced for what it is, but this truck is very reliable, low maintanence, and a lot of fun for 4 wheeling in. It has great power when needed. Comfort was OK. The only problem we had was the passenger seat would not always lock in place, when I had to put the brakes on the seat would sometimes slide forward. Kinda scary... Overall good truck, nothing fancy.

Running Strong after 10 Yrs and Counting - 2000 Toyota Tacoma
By JH - October 30 - 5:10 pmI purchased my PreRunner July 2000 with 5 miles. Now at 136,500 its still 100% dependable. I take it everywhere...work, hunting, ATV carrier, wood hauling. You name it and its always there for me. Outside of the normal maintenance (brakes, fluids, tires, etc) no problem what so ever. Ive been running Toyos on it since 2007 and I wish I would have made that switch 7 years prior. Simply a great vehicle. I dont think my teenager is going to get this truck. Ill get him something else. ;-)
