Almost still original after 152,000 - 2000 Toyota Tacoma
By GB - May 7 - 10:26 pmI bought my Toyota Tacoma with 40,000 miles on it. 7 years later I now have 152,000 miles on it. Other than routine items such as brakes, tires, batteries, air filters. Everything is still original. I did have to replace the o2 sensor at 102,000 miles. Great truck, my kids will be still driving it 10 years from now.

Got a LEMON?? - 2000 Toyota Tacoma
By Curtis - January 4 - 1:40 amI bought a 2000 Toyota Tacoma with 54,000 miles ended up paying 14,000 dollars then later multiple misfires and low compression ratio. So I talked to someone who has the same year make and model. The same thing happened to him, multiple misfires and low compression ratio and it was bought from the same dealership. I am waiting two weeks so far, for them to call me back.

Best truck I have ever owned - 2000 Toyota Tacoma
By James - December 25 - 6:26 amThis is the third Toyota I have owned. 89 Corolla, 89 pickup, then this one. All I have had to replace on it in the last 60,000 miles has been oil/filters and tires. It gets great mileage as long as you dont drive too hard (hah, right, NOT drive hard) around 25 mpg. The braking could be better. All in all this truck has been good to me.

Some Things to Consider - 2000 Toyota Tacoma
By famousface - June 17 - 2:00 amSeats got better in 2000 but not great. It handles well and predictible. The factory tires really suck in rain. Ive had some transmission problems (pulsating in 1st gear) but other than that it has been solid. The mileage is about 20. I had a Subaru before this so it is different, but so far I enjoy it.

Great value - 2000 Toyota Tacoma
By Nick George - March 8 - 5:30 amThis vehicle has almost 100,000 miles on it and it runs almost like new. Its a truck; rides and sounds like one, but is mechanically superior to anything Ive ever owned with this many miles on it. Gas mileage is good at around 18 around town and 23 on the road.

Tacoma is highly recommended! - 2000 Toyota Tacoma
By toytaco - November 30 - 2:00 amI bought my Tacoma brand new in August of 2000 and have loved it ever since. There have been a couple of minor mechanical issues, but the dealership has taken care of them completely. My 5 speed V6 offers low to mid 20s in mileage when compared to about the same mileage with the 2.7L four cylinder which is a real dog! I see people on here complaining about interior quality and such, but what do you really expect in a truck? You could spend almost twice as much on a Ford, Dodge or Chevy, but when it comes down to resale value and overall quality, they cant even compare.

the ultimate shuttle vehicle - 2000 Toyota Tacoma
By mtn sport - November 22 - 10:00 amMy first Toyota & certainly not the last. This truck is great, Ive pulled some fancy looking 4x4s out of some rough spots w/ no problem. Highly recommend the TRD package. Added a shell to the back for traveling.
