I had been researching this car since about July of this year. Everything I had learned was astonishing, from the features to the hybrid system. I am the type that gets my hopes up in anticipation and usually I am disappointed when I finally get to use the product, but not so with the Prius. It is simply AWESOME. Fun to drive, great head turner, great gas mileage, and Im not hurting the environment as much as the average driver. If you can get your hands on one then do so!!!

As a first time buyer of Totota Im very impressed with the purchase procedure from the dealership and the performance of my new Prius. From being on the waiting list to my phone call that it was my turn to make a decision I was treated with respect and honesty. One disappointment was that the Toyo Guard Protection was automatically included in the price. I dont feel for the price its worth it. My best fuel economy has been 55 mpg for a tankful of gas and the worst 42 mpg, an interstate trip @ 70-75 mph sustained, which I was delighted with.

This car is great. It gets great millage and handles like a dream. It has lots of get-up-and-go. I usually am the first off the line. The voice recognigition dosnt always understand me, but I can live with that. This free GPS upgrade that Im getting next week might fix that. I would like a few of the extras they have on the Japaneese models, like the beeping bumpers, the tilting mirrors when backing, the auto paralell parking feature sounds great too. Im glad other Prius owners dont have the TV, but I would like to have that feature.

This vehicle is very peppy and will move on the highway. I cant believe the gas mileage Im getting, about 40 MPG on the highway and 50+ around town. The interior is very roomy - I have 2 booster seats in the back for the kids and still have the hatchback trunk for packages.

  • Every car should be this great! - 2004 Toyota Prius

Ive owned my 2004 Prius (Package #9 - loaded) since October 15, 2003. I believe I was one of the very first folks to take possession of this incredible automobile. I have been driving luxury and sport cars for more than 35 years, and I have never gotten as much pleasure behind the wheel as I experience daily while driving my 2004 Prius. The technology is a marvel. From the bluetooth phone to the Navigation to the voice activation to the driving in stealth mode, this car is a blast. In every way, owning a 2004 Prius has exceeded my most demanding expectations.

  • Mileage mistated by Toyota and dealer - 2004 Toyota Prius

After 3500 miles, ave. mileage is 45. Never came close to advertised mileage. This was expected as Prius owner-friends said same. OK except, when I suggested to the sales person at the time of purchase that the advertised mileage was "optimistic", he assurred me that it was accurate. Yeeah, right! Great car but I have had better buying experiences.

  • Little to compromise - 2004 Toyota Prius

Id like the interior tweeked a bit as the drivers seat comfort is lacking somewhat. The fuel guage is not the most accurate Ive seen in part due to the inner bladder design which helps further reduce evaporative emissions. But I cant remember when I had this much fun driving a car and feeling so good about what Im doing for my pocketbook and my world....without compromising anything.
