Model Overview:

Well into its fourth decade of production, the compact Toyota Corolla is the best-selling car in automotive history, and for good reason. Small, inexpensive, fuel-efficient and as reliable as the day is long, the Corolla is the quintessential economy car. As long as you change the oil on time and don't hit a tree, any Corolla should provide dependable transportation well past the 100,000-mile mark. That's why so many shoppers keep buying Corollas year after year.

Since its 1968 introduction in the U.S., the Toyota Corolla has come in a variety of body styles, including a sedan, coupe, hatchback and wagon. More recently, however, it has only been available as a sedan. Today's Corolla has almost as much rear passenger space as a midsize sedan and its fuel economy is impressive. Although rivals boast sportier designs and more entertaining driving dynamics, a Corolla is nonetheless an excellent choice for smart consumers on a budget.

  • Absolutely Love! - 2013 Toyota Corolla

I got this car 6 months ago after having my Honda for 13.5 years. I chose this over the brand new Corolla because I liked the way it looked, drove and overall interior comfort better. I have no complaints except the seats can get stained easily and its harder to get out. But the seats are very comfortable, I love the bluetooth capability. Sunroof is great, handles the road nice. I feel very safe in it. I highly recommend this vehicle to anyone looking for a smaller 4 door sedan.

  • Superb Reliability - 1998 Toyota Corolla
    By -

This is the most reliable automobile I have ever owned. We have two 1998 Corollas one is an LE and the other a CE. Both were purchased used at 30,000. Both now have over 100,000. This is truly an economy car needing normal maintenance and only one repair ever: the throttle position sensor on both cars one time.

  • brakes lousy - 2001 Toyota Corolla

This is a good car, but the brakes are hard. My wife brought back to dealer and they adjusted the rear brakes at a cost of $35. Same problem. I complained that they charged my wife for work that should not have been needed. They would not remove the charge and the brakes still suck. Last week I drove the car and the rear brakes are making clunking sounds now.

  • Worth every penny! - 2009 Toyota Corolla

We bought this car last month after much contemplation. No matter how we put it this was the best choice for our money in this economy... & yes I used to drive a BMW 525i so it was not an easy decision for me. So far we are very happy with the performance of this car. Mileage is excellent, runs smooth, not so great on the luxury but the money we spent on BMW repairs, I rather go for an okay looking car that is cheaper to maintain and lasts much longer. The feel of steering is amazing like a luxury vehicle. Mileage is unbeatable. I am petite, my husband is 511" and we find the arm rest okay when its slided front but could have been better.

  • Best car I ever had - 2005 Toyota Corolla
    By -

I bought my corolla in 04 with only 9miles on it. As of July 2010 i have 242,000+ miles on it and it still drives great. My first clutch lasted up for about 188,000 miles before it was replaced. but its not something to be driven in the snow.

  • Be very careful when buying a corolla - 2005 Toyota Corolla

After owning for 40 days, the fuel pump died in my corolla with 67,000 miles. The big problem is that mine was made in Japan. Because of that the fuel pump will cost over $800. If my corolla had been made in North America the fuel pump would cost $130-250. Why on earth would Toyota want to do that to their customers? Right now my car is still in the shop because I dont know what to do and neither does my mechanic. If the VIN starts with J that means it was made in Japan and you should not buy it!

  • Solid, Quality Car - 2004 Toyota Corolla
    By -

Very Solid, quality car. First Toyota product after several Nissans. Seems much more quality and better designed. For example the cup holder are where they belong, not under the heater controls, or behind the gear shift. Doors close solidly. Ride is smooth and quiet for a small car.

  • Worth the wait - 2004 Toyota Corolla

Two years ago I chose to buy a used nissan sentra instead of the more expensive corolla. What a mistake. The nissan was nothing but a problem. The corolla has more power, much better mileage, a better reputation, and looks better. You cant go wrong with this car.

  • Long life - 1997 Toyota Corolla

Great car. Sold it in June of 2010 in order to buy an SUV. Great MPG and lasted! There was nothing wrong with it when I sold it. Had 194,000 miles and ran almost perfect. Sold it for $1,800 even though KBB listing was $2,200. Overall, it was great.
