Model Overview:

Well into its fourth decade of production, the compact Toyota Corolla is the best-selling car in automotive history, and for good reason. Small, inexpensive, fuel-efficient and as reliable as the day is long, the Corolla is the quintessential economy car. As long as you change the oil on time and don't hit a tree, any Corolla should provide dependable transportation well past the 100,000-mile mark. That's why so many shoppers keep buying Corollas year after year.

Since its 1968 introduction in the U.S., the Toyota Corolla has come in a variety of body styles, including a sedan, coupe, hatchback and wagon. More recently, however, it has only been available as a sedan. Today's Corolla has almost as much rear passenger space as a midsize sedan and its fuel economy is impressive. Although rivals boast sportier designs and more entertaining driving dynamics, a Corolla is nonetheless an excellent choice for smart consumers on a budget.

  • This is the greatest car - 2003 Toyota Corolla

Before I bought this car, I was approaching 200,000 miles in my Nissan Sentra. But it was beginning to fail, so I took the plunge and bought the Corolla just after it appeared in dealerships, a year ago (Feb. 2002). I have 21,000 miles on it and its been absolutely reliable. We drove it from Boston to New Orleans last May and I had no problems. Its very comfortable. The heat is on and hot in now time flat. The A/C was a dream during last summer. And there is SO much storage space for all of my little knick knacks. I think I love that the best.

  • "Old Reliable" - 1995 Toyota Corolla

I bought mine new right after I graduated from college. Twenty years later, it is still my main car with almost 250,000 miles. I have only had to do routine maintenance and purchases (brakes, tires, tune-ups, oil changes, 1 serpentine belt), and one alternator. It has decent power (easy acceleration). The ride is rougher than some vehicles and road handling depends a lot on the tires, I think. Excellent mileage for a 20-year-old car: 20-35 mpg. Its not nearly as quiet inside as it used to be and its old. I lived on the coast for a few years and the paint is slowly fading. Whenever I am tempted to buy a new car, though, all I have to do is talk to my friends and family who have purchased new vehicles. I have never found as reliable a car as the 1995 Toyota Corolla. It was built when the Toyota name stood for quality.

  • One sweet ride - 2010 Toyota Corolla

This car has all the safety features as standard equipment and that was important to me. The ride is very quiet, road noise, almost non- existent. This coupled with the roominess and comfort make you think you are in a larger sedan. As a commuter car, the size is just right and the gas mileage very good. I have been buying Toyotas since 1984, and this is my third Corolla. They just keep getting better.

  • Best car Ive bought in a long time - 2009 Toyota Corolla
    By -

Ive owned just about every car made over the years. I needed a car that got great fuel economy and didnt look like an egg going down the road. The Corolla S looks great, runs great, and I average over 40 mpg on the freeway with my 70+ mile commute every day. The new 2009 interior is comfortable on the long drives, much better than the 2008. I like just about everything about the car and the price was more than fair for something that I know will last me over 200k miles with no problems.

  • Worst Car Ever - 2003 Toyota Corolla
    By -

This has been the worst car Ive ever owned. Ive had to replace the rear hubs ($1200+), the catalytic converter ($200) and the air conditioner. The interior of the car has completely come apart and the hub caps have all fallen off. Ive owned cars that were way older and never had problems like I have with my Corolla. DO NOT BUY ONE!!!

  • very good car - 1994 Toyota Corolla

    This is very good car.

  • love my new corolla - 2003 Toyota Corolla

I am so thrilled with my new corolla. I just bought it recently and I am happy, because I got what I paid for. The car was very inexpensive and it is very reliable. It has a lot of inside space and is very comfortable to sit in. It is definetley better than the Honda that I used to own. I suggest that a lot more people buy a Corolla.

  • Just Like a mini-camry - 2011 Toyota Corolla
    By -

Regardless of some of the reviews Ive read and peoples disappointments with the corolla, I say spend an additional $20k and get a Lexus. Because you expect to get a $40k Lexus with all the bells and whistles and performance for under $20k. Cant happen. And when I shopped for a new car Ive looked at all cars under $25k that exist American, Korean, Japanese, you name and although Toyota did have what I consider fabricated recalls, it still beats everyone by a mile for quality. My 2007 Camry was under-recall. Never-ever-ever an issue. Be realistic, comfortable ride, awesome fuel efficiency, perfect safety, very roomy ( very close to camry).

  • Love My Corolla - 2005 Toyota Corolla
    By -

I enjoy driving the 2005 Toyota Corolla. It handles very well and gas mileage is good. I originally made a down payment for delivery of a Prius, but after waiting nine months, changed my mind and bought the Corolla. Im glad I did. I had a Cressida, and two Camrys, and I am sold on Toyota automobiles. Never a problem! And, since I live in Southern Florida, I appreciate the cold A/C of this car.

  • Amazing value in one little car - 2002 Toyota Corolla
    By -

Bought an 02 S model about 3 years ago. Abused by original owners and left for dead. Our friend at the junkyard for it working in a jiffy. My first car, college car, put some 40k long and hard freeway miles on it (its at 180k now), replaced transmission, struts, manifold and a wheel baring, but it has never broken down on me or failed to start. Ive driven it through hot Vermont summers and freezing Maine winters. This is the car I walk out to every morning and thank the Lord for. It is a car I am truly satisfied with.
