Overview & Reviews
Well into its fourth decade of production, the compact Toyota Corolla is the best-selling car in automotive history, and for good reason. Small, inexpensive, fuel-efficient and as reliable as the day is long, the Corolla is the quintessential economy car. As long as you change the oil on time and don't hit a tree, any Corolla should provide dependable transportation well past the 100,000-mile mark. That's why so many shoppers keep buying Corollas year after year.
Since its 1968 introduction in the U.S., the Toyota Corolla has come in a variety of body styles, including a sedan, coupe, hatchback and wagon. More recently, however, it has only been available as a sedan. Today's Corolla has almost as much rear passenger space as a midsize sedan and its fuel economy is impressive. Although rivals boast sportier designs and more entertaining driving dynamics, a Corolla is nonetheless an excellent choice for smart consumers on a budget.

This car saved my life! - 2000 Toyota Corolla
By Jason McGovern - January 12 - 2:00 amI had the stripper model. 3 speed transmission, 33mpg hwy. The performance is fairly good, but I would steer away from the 3 speed trans. This car handles very nicely. Im a nutzoid driver who makes the passengers eat the side windows when I take the curves. The ride is fairly quiet and fairly smooth. Reliability is already spoken for and that is, get your basic service, and it will survive a nuclear blast. Not to mention I rolled this car a few times on the fwy going 60, and it held up VERY well. Definitely a safe car to drive. I came out without a SCRATCH.

Loyal Toyota Owner - 2001 Toyota Corolla
By ajkfx16gts - January 12 - 2:00 amThis is the fifth Corolla Ive owned. Although its the first non-sport model Ive owned, it is still a well-performing car. Fun to drive, great gas mileage, perfect reliability, nice styling. Love this car and would recommend it to anybody else looking for a compact sedan. I would recommend this car over a 2003 Corolla.

"Just" What I Paid For - 2007 Toyota Corolla
By jdeb3456 - January 11 - 2:00 amReviews on this site vary significantly, I thought I would share my ongoing experience with this car. I have 62,000 original miles without any problems at all. Gas mileage averages 32 MPG in mostly city driving, including green light burnouts on a mad dash to work. Highway mileage is usually about 37 MPG, but once again, I am an aggressive driver by Corolla standards. Always careful to perform the service every 5,000 miles, including more elaborate and expensive service at 30k and 60k. I have already replaced the belt. Engine control module recall is pending, but no problems yet. Replaced OEM Goodyear Integrity tires at 40k with Michelin HydroEdge, the tires I recommend for this car.

168,000 and still strong - 1998 Toyota Corolla
By cladem - January 10 - 9:13 pmWe bought this car new. My wife had it, then my daughter and now its my turn with 168,000 miles on it. Still rides like new but gas tank lever is broken, hood latch sticks, and it uses about 1 qt of oil every 1100 miles. It is about the most reliable car we have ever had other than our Toyota RAV4.

Reliable Fun & Economical - 2008 Toyota Corolla
By Dorb1231 - January 10 - 12:36 amDoes everything I wanted it to do. Based in the increase in gas prices, it might pay for itself when compared to the older vehicle I had. Out of the showroom drove New York City to Florida and back. Very stable even in driving rain at 75 mph.

Experience with my 2008 Corolla - 2008 Toyota Corolla
By cja - January 9 - 4:00 amThis car gives a nice smooth ride for its size. Acceleration is smooth and the transmission shifts great. This car rides a bit high and the drivers seat is adjustable; all nice features. However, I find the steering wheel a bit too far away, making driving a little uncomfortable and the knee ends up too close to the console. Im somewhat disappointed with the fuel economy (rated at 26/35) when my bigger accord of 1988 produced 30/34 mpg.
