Overview & Reviews
Well into its fourth decade of production, the compact Toyota Corolla is the best-selling car in automotive history, and for good reason. Small, inexpensive, fuel-efficient and as reliable as the day is long, the Corolla is the quintessential economy car. As long as you change the oil on time and don't hit a tree, any Corolla should provide dependable transportation well past the 100,000-mile mark. That's why so many shoppers keep buying Corollas year after year.
Since its 1968 introduction in the U.S., the Toyota Corolla has come in a variety of body styles, including a sedan, coupe, hatchback and wagon. More recently, however, it has only been available as a sedan. Today's Corolla has almost as much rear passenger space as a midsize sedan and its fuel economy is impressive. Although rivals boast sportier designs and more entertaining driving dynamics, a Corolla is nonetheless an excellent choice for smart consumers on a budget.

Is Toyota losing their touch? - 2009 Toyota Corolla
By johnhlanding - March 18 - 12:59 amThis is my second toyota and has come to be very disappointing. The build quality, cheap parts, and overall value of the car is terrible. My biggest issue is oil consumption. The car uses at least 1 quart of oil a week. The dealer says nothing is wrong. Other reviews online point out the same issue. My life now consists of weekly visits to an instant oil change place to get it topped off. Thank God it is free! Otherwise I would go bankrupt just buying oil to refill it with. The steering is awful at high speeds. I fear that Toyota is becoming the Japanese version of GM. I guess I will try my luck with Honda or maybe Ford if I am forced to find another vehicle.

My Black Sand Pearl, 2009 Corolla S - 2009 Toyota Corolla
By Lakesguy - March 17 - 3:50 pmGreat JBL-6 disk w/XM stereo. Ride is controlled and solid, brakes are strong. Acceleration is pretty much the same as my old 2006 S. Car is VERY quiet on the road. Great gas mileage and great looks.

The Best! - 2006 Toyota Corolla
By Fisher - March 17 - 11:16 amI was looking into buying a Camry but found the Corolla loaded for much less! I knew I was going to buy a Toyota and would be happy with it, because I have always had Toyotas and have gotten about 300,000 miles out of each of them! So this Corolla will last me a while I am sure of it! With my automatic I get about 33mpg in mixed driving which is pretty good! I am a big person and I fit well in this car, better than I did in my old 4Runner! They designed this car with a high roofline and command seating, visiblity is very good! I wouldnt trade my Corolla for the world!

Should have kept looking - 2009 Toyota Corolla
By Carl - March 17 - 5:26 amWe have a 2005 Corolla and have had great luck with it. Thats why we went with the 2009 Corolla. Having had the 2009 for 18 months now I can report that the 2009 is no 2005 Corolla. The seats are not as comfortable, the clock was removed from the radio and now you have to toogle through the odometer settings to see it. The plastic interior is cheap looking and the gas mileage barely breaks 30 mpg (as compared to our 05 which gets 35+). Overall this car is not in the same class as the previous generation. Very disappointed.

2006 Toyota Corolla S - 2006 Toyota Corolla
By Brian Young - March 17 - 12:20 amMy wife and I took a leap and traded a 2004 Malibu LT for this Corolla S. What a smart move. Our mileage has been over 40 mpg since we bought it 2 months ago. We now have 4300 miles on the car and are very happy overall. This 5-speed Corolla is too much fun!

Feliz with our Corolla - 2008 Toyota Corolla
By fkarau - March 15 - 2:20 amWe are very happy with our Corolla and it is a great economical runner. Roads are rough down here in Mexico and there are a couple of annoying rattling noises from the dash and center console driving over cobblestones or paving stone roads. It isnt an easy starter. Quite often takes two attempts. Very roomy and comfortable for a small car. Not particularly impressive off the line acceleration but in highway driving performs extremely well with lots of power for passing and no down shifting even in fifth gear going up most hills. Very stable at high speeds for a small car. If it turns out to be as reliable as its reputation we will replace this Corolla with another.

The Corolla that could - 1995 Toyota Corolla
By Pat - March 14 - 5:46 amMy 1st Toyota and it wont be my last. Extremely dependable, great mileage, not a show stopper but beauty is only skin deep. My daughter borrowed it the other day and on her way home from work she was rear ended/side swiped by a car at 60 mph. Rear quarter panel damaged, bumper pushed in to tire but structural integrity of trunk and balance of car intact. Daughter suffered minor whiplash, bumped her knee on dash and got a slight bruise from the shoulder strap which did a fine job holding her back from the windshield. The other 7 cars the driver hit didnt fare as well - my daughter walked away. Thanks Toyota!

A High-Profile Car - 2003 Toyota Corolla
By Roo-N - March 13 - 5:33 pmPros - fuel economy, mechanical reliability, overall Toyota quality, peppy, sits higher than most economy cars therefore good visibility Cons - the light weight and higher profile translates to wind intolerance, side rear-view blinds spots are dangerous, interior construction leaves a bit to be desired with squeaks and rattles, horn is pathethic.

Want Another - 1996 Toyota Corolla
By Unkel - March 13 - 2:33 amThey should still make Corolla wagons. Id get another. Ten years, 212000 miles, the only problem is oil burning - I just use thicker viscosity. Ive done only minor repairs from wear and tear. Original clutch and exhaust - amazing considering winter driving. The reliability, efficiency, and practicality of this car should be emulated. I average 42 mpg summer, 34 mpg winter, overall 38 mpg. I dont baby this car - I dont slow down for speed bumps, I use it like a pick-up (firewood, cement, loam, etc.), I carry people, luggage, doors, trees from the nursery... I fear this one is irreplaceable. Toyota should return to making the Corolla wagon. Try it as a hybrid, or at least with very low emissions. For now, if I had to replace this, itd be with a Focus.
