Overview & Reviews
Well into its fourth decade of production, the compact Toyota Corolla is the best-selling car in automotive history, and for good reason. Small, inexpensive, fuel-efficient and as reliable as the day is long, the Corolla is the quintessential economy car. As long as you change the oil on time and don't hit a tree, any Corolla should provide dependable transportation well past the 100,000-mile mark. That's why so many shoppers keep buying Corollas year after year.
Since its 1968 introduction in the U.S., the Toyota Corolla has come in a variety of body styles, including a sedan, coupe, hatchback and wagon. More recently, however, it has only been available as a sedan. Today's Corolla has almost as much rear passenger space as a midsize sedan and its fuel economy is impressive. Although rivals boast sportier designs and more entertaining driving dynamics, a Corolla is nonetheless an excellent choice for smart consumers on a budget.

cool car for cool mileage - 2004 Toyota Corolla
By jbdvm - March 29 - 10:00 amJust obtianed 38mpg in mostly interstate driving with A/c on. Very comfortable and well-mannered on the freeway. Great combination of power and fuel economy with the manual tranny. Only complaint is some buzzing coming from the rear headliner and dash at certain RPMs not a good thing for a Toyota.

Reliable despite very basic maintenance. - 1997 Toyota Corolla
By Amit M. - March 26 - 8:46 amI bought the car new - 5 sp. manual transmission. The car now has over 130K miles on it. Never performed any of the manufacturer-recommended scheduled maintenance. Change oil every 7000 miles (need to add a quart every 2000 miles or so). Havent yet changed the timing belt. Original battery died after 10.5 years. Replaced front brakes and spark plugs at 100K miles (neither was probably necessary). Ive been commuting 120 miles each day for over an year now - get 37-40 mpg on highway during winter (Connecticut), 42-45 mpg on highway during summer! I do keep my speed in check. Used to get lower mpg when they used to add MTBE instead of ethanol in the fuel.

Wish I stayed with Honda - 2009 Toyota Corolla
By Typo - March 24 - 10:20 pmDisappointed after 7 months. Interior plastic trim is already breaking and seems to scuff easily. 2 major repairs (sunroof rattling & seat height adjustment would not hold). Seat is still not working correctly. Sound system not great. No rear dome light, no glove box light or lock, no lights on visor mirrors. Cloth upholstery is a dirt magnet (unless you buy Toyotas protection package). Wipers dont work when theres frost on the window, until the car warms up. I bought this to replace my gas guzzling Honda mini van. Corolla = about 30 MPG with mixed freeway and street driving which I consider very good. Wish Id stuck with Honda. Had looked at the Fit. More bang for the buck.

Another New Corolla Owner - 2005 Toyota Corolla
By hoody - March 24 - 10:00 amGot this car July 19 04 Had pretty good experiance at this dealer, but than I was "ready" to buy one.... the car is just fine, I was real suprised when I did my first wash and wax that there were no sharp edges any where on this car... I usually own SUVs, and have an old Caravan yet still around, but somehow I was able to get aclimated to the lower driveing with no big problems. I didnt get the ABS or side air bags, just the usual stuff as I dont plan on keeping one for more than 3 years anymore...... man is this thing "red" :)

Goodbye Detroit - 2005 Toyota Corolla
By mlk503 - March 24 - 10:00 amAfter driving detroit iron for 27 years I decided that I had had enough. The superior crash test ratings, quality ratings and reliability compared to american manufactures offerings convinced me to purchase this vehicle. The price and the quality are far superior. The car feels smooth around corners and over the nasty railroad tracks on the drive to work. I parked this next to a 1999 Camry and they are actually about the same size. It seems more like a midsize car with a compact price. You wont be cheated on interior room or trunk space. I had to pick up an order for some computer equipment for work and couldnt believe that it all fit in the trunk.

2003 corolla - 2003 Toyota Corolla
By MITCH - March 22 - 7:30 pmHaving the car x 3 years, I can safely say that it has: fairly comfortable ride, Im spoiled with the gas mileage, great room for 5 (3 kids), and rock-of-gibralter reliability. Changing the tires to Michelins helped the handling on my mountain roads. Now if it only looked like a Mazda...

Pluses and minuses - 2015 Toyota Corolla
By robotnik - March 21 - 11:32 amThis is my third Corolla. All were bought new. The first, a 1990 that lasted about 200k. I have a 2006 that has nearly 160k, and runs super. The 2006 is my best drivingCorolla, after comparison. The 2006 tracks well. The 2015 doesnt. Is it because of thinner tires, or the wheel base? The 2006 body has a more solid feel. Thinner steel in the 2015? It could be just my impression. 2015 cabin and instrument panel blows 2006 away. Great improvement. I hate the CVT tranny. Engine over-revs. The 2006 takes off like a bullet. The 2015 is unresponsive. On a hill, the engine sounds like its in neutral, over-revving. Blind spots over left shoulder, no camera to compensate. Rear-view mirror too small.

Overall Garbage - 2010 Toyota Corolla
By wicked31036 - March 19 - 1:48 amGot this as a hand me down three weeks ago with 32,000 miles. Ride is terrible. I feel every pebble in the road. Traction control stunts hard/quick acceleration at all speeds. Steering wonders at high speed. Cheap interior quality, the plastics rattle. Wind noise is bad. Cheap feel overall. Dealer has to do certain customizable feature for you. My 2005 Civic with 183,000 miles was better in every way. Including MPG. (Note: I never changed the shocks and only did routine maintenance on it) And this car does not have as much room as the Civic. Civic all the way.
