This Year's Model Updates:

For 2007, Toyota has discontinued the sporty Corolla XRS trim level. For the LE trim, leather seating is no longer available.

Pros:
  • Roomy interior, fuel-efficient engine, illustrious reliability record.
Cons:
  • Awkward driver-seat position, bland on-road personality, lack of model variation and upscale convenience features, gets pricey even when equipped with just the basics.

Im 65 years old and this Corolla just makes me like it more each time I drive it. In the city it runs around like a peppy little rabbit and on the highway it handles 75 mph speed limits like you are going 50. Fully loaded with 3 big adults and luggage and coolers (the trunk is larger than you think) cruising at 75 mph our gas mileage was 37 & 38 mpg. Less money and better equipped than all the other vehicles I tested. In a few years I may give this car to my grandson and then I may try a Camry. Anyway, buy one and start to enjoy it right now.

  • Does what its supposed to do - 2007 Toyota Corolla

The Corolla, like all Toyotas, has been built with precision to be reliable and practical. I got the S model so I could look good at the same time. The car is fairly fun to drive too, thanks to a smooth and peppey engine and a precise 5 spd manual. I was looking at a Mazda 3, which I still think is more fun and better looking, but the price was right on the Toyota (probably because theyre revamping this model for 2008)with 0.9% interest and $750 cash back on a lease. Its built for smaller drivers (Im 6) as evidenced by the steering wheel being close to the dash and high seat height. After about a week I found an acceptable driving position, but still no thigh support.

First ever new car, first ever toyota, never will buy anything else other than a yota now. Good MPG, the 5 speed is fun to drive. You get looks at the lights. I wash it twice a week. Its just a great great vehicle. Got it for a song as well. I have a sporty looking car without a sporty price and that I like.

  • Bland but Grand - 2007 Toyota Corolla

I got this car in June 08 with about 6,000 miles on it. It now has 62,300 and it runs wonderfully. The car always starts right up. I think the idle runs a bit high, but I am told this is normal. As per the manual it should idle at around 750 RPM. Mechanically nothing has needed to be addressed. I have only replaced a front light bulb. I have really scrutinized EVERYTHING with this car. Other than the idling (which turned out to be normal) the other thing I noticed is that the belt sometimes squeaks after start up. This happens during wet weather, particularly during the first start. Thats about all I find as far as the negatives go. This car runs smoothly and is very easy to drive
