Overview & Reviews
Well into its fourth decade of production, the compact Toyota Corolla is the best-selling car in automotive history, and for good reason. Small, inexpensive, fuel-efficient and as reliable as the day is long, the Corolla is the quintessential economy car. As long as you change the oil on time and don't hit a tree, any Corolla should provide dependable transportation well past the 100,000-mile mark. That's why so many shoppers keep buying Corollas year after year.
Since its 1968 introduction in the U.S., the Toyota Corolla has come in a variety of body styles, including a sedan, coupe, hatchback and wagon. More recently, however, it has only been available as a sedan. Today's Corolla has almost as much rear passenger space as a midsize sedan and its fuel economy is impressive. Although rivals boast sportier designs and more entertaining driving dynamics, a Corolla is nonetheless an excellent choice for smart consumers on a budget.

BUY ONE - 2005 Toyota Corolla
By Doug in Milford - April 28 - 8:13 amI have owned somewhere around 100 cars in my life and this Corolla is on the top for reliability and gas milage. I got the Sport or S model loaded to the gills and still had money left over. It is the end of the 2005 line but I saved a bundle. I drive 100 miles a day for work and so far this little car is comfortable, economical, and a pleasure to drive. I am also 61" 230Lbs. and fir in the car with ease. I would only say it would be nice to have a telescoping steering wheel and I wish I had gotten the highest upgraded stereo. I would also like to see a one touch open for the sunroof like the power windows. All in all, it is early but I am very impressed with this great little car!

Its a "10" - 2008 Toyota Corolla
By newtoyota2008 - April 24 - 1:46 pmThe 2008 Corolla excels in all the important ways. Its nicely styled, its most reliable, its efficient and well handling. Ive read editorial reviews that feel things are not placed exactly where theyd like, or that the model is not of a style to their liking. Well, they are most welcome to spend their money on flashy boats. I smile all the way to the bank with my new 2008, and all the way down the highway. In particular, I find the driving column and seat extremely comfortable and well placed and wonder if they knew the seat had three adjustments possible (seat height, forward placement, and backrest) as well as a tilt steering wheel. I think they may have missed that .... :)

No Problems - 2003 Toyota Corolla
By metaxaide - April 21 - 10:00 amReplaced my 99 Corolla LE which was a great car. This car is much improved and has been completely trouble free. I routinely get 30-32 around town and 38-41 on the highway. It has a smooth ride and handles well in snow and ice conditions.

lousy tires and poor brakes - 2003 Toyota Corolla
By hamisch - April 21 - 10:00 amThe positive points of this car are; reliability, fuel economy-I get 30-32 MPG in mixed city/highway driving, interior room and handling. The negative aspects are; The OEM tires made by Firestone, they are by far the worst tires I have ever owned. After about 3 or 4 thousand miles driving on a wet highway was like driving on ice. I had them replaced at 16,000 miles-the lowest mileage that I have ever replaced tires at in my life and I have been driving for 28 years! The other problem is that the brakes seem to be undersized, the car should have better braking capacity. The last point is that the front roof pillars limit visibility a great deal.

Why Corolla is The Most Reliable - 2003 Toyota Corolla
By Robt-Cobb - April 20 - 9:10 pmI have 103000 miles on my 03 LE Corolla. This LE will last 400,000 miles just by changing the trans fluid every 10,000 ml, oil at 3,000 ml, spark-plugs at 10-15 months. Tires when worn. The higher wheel base keeps the car from scraping the curb. You can also repair (or find mechanics to repair this car) very cheaply! With premium or high octane gas I get 34cty/40hwy. And I drive at speeds of 70+ mph! The speakers are fine but I hate the lame radio/DVD which is too hard to swap out! And the space doesnt accommodate any of the popular MP3 players! The larger headlights are a welcomed improvement. And the higher door and head room is a great improvement for my bike and computer stuff.

So far I love it - 2006 Toyota Corolla
By NikkiB - April 10 - 1:26 pmI got my car in Feb. 2006, so far I have had no troubles with it. The price was good and it had all the basic features that I wanted (I have the LE). The driver seat was a little hard to get used to at first and the back seat head rests are a little high for me to see over sometimes. I like how the radio/CD player are up high on the dash, I dont have to look down while driving to change stations. I love how the lights are automatic. One feature I like, but dont like, when you unlock the car and dont open the doors it will lock up automatically after a few min. Like, in case I cant remember if I locked it, dislike, keys could still be inside.

Original Owner for 10 years - 1994 Toyota Corolla
By HyPERDRiVE - April 10 - 2:00 amThis car has only seen one major problem and that was the alternator, besides that just regular oil change and tune ups. Well, you cannot really compare its performance to todays cars because its a whole new ballgame. The car also feels so nimble and easy to handle. If you are getting your first car and you are skeptical about reliability issues, go for this car because only rarely you will see any. They dont built cars like they used to. Our 2002 Maxima has had more problems over 15k miles than the Corolla has had in 10 years. I am going to try to make the Corolla last 500k+ miles...wish me luck :)

Cant Beat It - 2005 Toyota Corolla
By BB - April 9 - 2:46 pmThis is my 2nd Corolla. Have had my 2005 for almost a year now & with 19,000 miles...no problems. 2005 Corolla has more hp than Civic EX & is a much more comfortable ride. Saturn Ion, Ford Focus...I think not! Toyota quality is the only way to go!
