Overview & Reviews
Well into its fourth decade of production, the compact Toyota Corolla is the best-selling car in automotive history, and for good reason. Small, inexpensive, fuel-efficient and as reliable as the day is long, the Corolla is the quintessential economy car. As long as you change the oil on time and don't hit a tree, any Corolla should provide dependable transportation well past the 100,000-mile mark. That's why so many shoppers keep buying Corollas year after year.
Since its 1968 introduction in the U.S., the Toyota Corolla has come in a variety of body styles, including a sedan, coupe, hatchback and wagon. More recently, however, it has only been available as a sedan. Today's Corolla has almost as much rear passenger space as a midsize sedan and its fuel economy is impressive. Although rivals boast sportier designs and more entertaining driving dynamics, a Corolla is nonetheless an excellent choice for smart consumers on a budget.

Best compact around - 2009 Toyota Corolla
By GANDORAMA - June 11 - 6:36 amI drive 18 miles each way to work, and its a pleasure to drive the Corolla. I like the instant mpg monitor. Even at 27 city 35 hwy EPA, I average 33 mpg, and hit 43.51 mpg on the highway over a 150 mile trip. I filled up, drove and filled again on return. Its very quiet for a compact, the stereo is decent, and I am beginning to like the electronic power steering a lot more. As it breaks in it is getting better mileage. I got the gray with gray window tint and its classy looking without adding anything to it. Brakes are great, havent had it in the snow yet. Very little wind noise on the highway. Seats are comfortable, visibility good. Good rear legroom. Smokes the competitors.

Dollar for Dollar, You Cant Go Wrong - 2007 Toyota Corolla
By Scott W. - June 9 - 8:43 pmI purchased my 2007 Toyota Corolla from the dealer new in Jan of 07. Overall, I went with the Corolla based purely on the proven track record of its reliability. It hasnt let me down. Only maintenance I perform is changing the oil every 5k miles (Ive used synthetic since the first change at 2000 miles). The engine runs like new. Tires have been replaced (upgraded to 205/16 from 185/15) with some 90,000 mile Michelin Hydro-Edge so I think they will be the last set I buy before I trade it in. I will perform a full maintenance at 90,000 miles just to be safe.

Best buy for my money - 2003 Toyota Corolla
By audit26 - June 8 - 10:00 amI compared several cars before I decided on the corolla. I got more for my money than I would have with the other ones I was considering. I had a 99 Monte Carlo and selling realestate it was hard for my clients to get in and out of the back seat and the gas mileage was another issue not a fuel efficent car. Now I have both fuel efficent car, plus style.

My Energizer Bunny - Toyota Corolla - 2006 Toyota Corolla
By Janie - June 7 - 8:17 pmDrive it first. The noise level is pretty high. That said, things that matter more to me are this cars strong suits. The gas mileage is phenomenal. It is STILL getting 32 or so mpg, and we drive back roads more than highways. Its got a lot of miles, but just goes and goes and goes. We do maintain the oil changes religiously. We were told not to bother tuning it up as long as the mileage is so good, so well do one when/if that starts to fall. We did replace the belt (theres only one for everything). It didnt cost that much. Weve kept good tires on it. If you care for it, itll care for you.

Corolla L 6 speed manual update - 2014 Toyota Corolla
By schooby - June 7 - 1:59 amMy 2014 Corolla 6 speed now has 23k miles on it. At 60 MPH I get 43 MPG, at 75 MPH I get 38 MPG. This car is slow to take off and hard to pass at highway speeds unless you drop down a couple of gears and grab some higher RPM. I had to have my head lights adjusted lower, on low beam other drivers constantly flashed me thinking my high beams were on. Cruise control works nice (installed after purchase) steering wheel does not move in and out, only up and down. No SAT radio on this model, Wife complains that the head rest is uncomfortable in front seats. Engine is quiet, only heard at high RPMs. Collar on gear shift unlocks reverse option, reverse is to the left and up, (next to first gear)

A nice car. Could be better - 2010 Toyota Corolla
By howeda7 - June 6 - 2:16 amI have had my 2010 Corolla S since July 2009. Overall, I have no major complaints. At 17K miles I have only done standard maintenance (and 2 of 3 recalls.) The steering seems fine to me, but Im guess Im not one to drive with me knees or one-handed. Acceleration is not special, but who expected it to be? Never had an issue passing anyone when needed, and have looked down to see I was going 80 without realizing it more then once. Exterior look is nice. Did accumulate several scratches quickly, but not sure if that was bad luck or not. Interior is OK. The S model shouldnt have the lint issue (if there is one) due to the sport fabric. The fabric does seem difficult to fully clean though.

Sporty Looking Reliable Car - 2005 Toyota Corolla
By Scott Dimeler - June 5 - 12:26 amThis is a really good car to drive back and forth to work. It looks really good, but does not have the power to support the sporty looks. It drives nice, but the engine could use some more torque. Gas mileage is good. Reliability is good after the first six months

Very reliable car, I love it!! - 1994 Toyota Corolla
By pwijegun - June 3 - 4:16 pmI bought this car with 158000+ miles back in 2004. I have put on another 30,000 miles since. I drive a lot and this car has not let me down ever. I even went on a 50 hour (round trip) road trip in it last year. If my car drives this good when it has 188000 miles, I can only imagine how good it was brand new. I would always buy Toyotas with no fear (new or used). Great car!!
