Model Overview:

Well into its fourth decade of production, the compact Toyota Corolla is the best-selling car in automotive history, and for good reason. Small, inexpensive, fuel-efficient and as reliable as the day is long, the Corolla is the quintessential economy car. As long as you change the oil on time and don't hit a tree, any Corolla should provide dependable transportation well past the 100,000-mile mark. That's why so many shoppers keep buying Corollas year after year.

Since its 1968 introduction in the U.S., the Toyota Corolla has come in a variety of body styles, including a sedan, coupe, hatchback and wagon. More recently, however, it has only been available as a sedan. Today's Corolla has almost as much rear passenger space as a midsize sedan and its fuel economy is impressive. Although rivals boast sportier designs and more entertaining driving dynamics, a Corolla is nonetheless an excellent choice for smart consumers on a budget.

I just bought my car 3 days ago, but I love it. I had my heart set on a Mazda 6 for a while but it was a little too expensive for my budget so my next choice was the Carolla. Just today, I was parked next to a Mazda 6 the same color as mine, and I actually like the body of mine better. Also, with gas prices so high, this car is excellent on gas. Its a fun car and I know Toyotas last forever. Id recommend it to anyone.

Just got the car on Tuesday. Didnt want a car but my truck doesnt get 30 mpg and I needed reliable and affordable for going back and forth to work. This is it! Havent finished first tank of gas but its already a winner as far as Im concerned. Already have 200 miles on it and am nowhere near needing to fill up. This is an Automat. and im driving at 63- 65mph. Driving is comfortable and surprisingly quiet. Very easy to get in and out of. There is plenty of room in the trunk. Leg room is great in the front.

  • I got rid of it! - 2000 Toyota Corolla

I purchased Corolla on the basis of staunch quality history. Unfortunately, I got nothing but issues. No Kidding! Here they are: Exhaust manifold flange gasket, all 4 power window motors, rear engine main seal, instrument cluster lights went out, inner tie rod, and huge vibration at 65mph. Yes, the car never got me stuck on the road, but I think Ill stick with other more reliable quality vehicles out there.

I cross shopped the Corolla, Ford Focus, Mazda3 and Honda Civic. With incentives, the Corolla was the best value in a fully loaded compact. This is my eighth Toyota or Lexus product and the previous seven have been bullet proof mechanically.

I have had this car since 2002, I have 103,000 miles on it and I have had NO engine or other problems except in the beginning which the dealer fixed asap since it was just off their lot so no problems. Great space and room!

  • Rattles & steering - 2009 Toyota Corolla

Great car overall our 5th Toyota. Fuel consumption is good about 5.5 litres/100km on long runs & 6.8 around town. Very sensitive steering. This is not a problem but does require more attention while driving or the car can be in the wrong lane very quickly. Have experienced a rumble/knock in front region of car plus rattles in sun roof. Dealer changed windshield thinking it was flexing body. This didnt solve problem. Dealer has just replaced a front strut & housing which has solved problem. Now we only have minor rattles.

I love this new body style on the Corollas. I decided to get this over the Prius at the last minute and saved a ton of money and Im not one bit sorry. The ride in this car is very smooth and handles the road well. I feel safe with all the great safety features it comes with, and the 10 airbags protect everyone thats in the car. Gas mileage is wonderful. Im averaging 38 mpg. The car has a long list of standard features and they are all good. All told, its a GREAT value for the money. Im a first time Toyota owner and Im very very pleased with this car. Its a keeper for sure.

Corolla is quiet, smooth, pleasant. This car is not really designed for tall people, and people of average-and- above girth. Im 62" and 180 pounds; the leg space is acceptable (just so- so), but my left elbow is passed the door elbow rest, with the seat all the way back; the seat cushion is too narrow - its side bolsters dig into my behind, making longer drives very uncomfortable. There is no lumbar support. The steering wheel telescopes and tilts, which is good. Controls are logically placed, simple, and easy to operate. Amber back-lighting of the instrument panel looks great, but the red needles badly crash with it. The stereo system sounds very basic.

  • Nice ride - 2003 Toyota Corolla

I bought my Corolla in 11/02. I previously had a Saturn and was unimpressed by the service and the car. I love the look and only qualms are the awkward position of the driver seat with the steering wheel and dash. I have to reach to push the buttons and I am a short person. The cars quiet and smooth though jerky on windt days. Gas mileage is disspointing. City driving:27mpg, and highway:33. Still waiting for the tank to run with a 40mpg avg. The car is a great deal, good quality, I feel very safe and am proud of my car!
