Overview & Reviews
Well into its fourth decade of production, the compact Toyota Corolla is the best-selling car in automotive history, and for good reason. Small, inexpensive, fuel-efficient and as reliable as the day is long, the Corolla is the quintessential economy car. As long as you change the oil on time and don't hit a tree, any Corolla should provide dependable transportation well past the 100,000-mile mark. That's why so many shoppers keep buying Corollas year after year.
Since its 1968 introduction in the U.S., the Toyota Corolla has come in a variety of body styles, including a sedan, coupe, hatchback and wagon. More recently, however, it has only been available as a sedan. Today's Corolla has almost as much rear passenger space as a midsize sedan and its fuel economy is impressive. Although rivals boast sportier designs and more entertaining driving dynamics, a Corolla is nonetheless an excellent choice for smart consumers on a budget.

I love my corolla! - 2000 Toyota Corolla
By Lee - December 16 - 11:46 amI totaled my new 98 corolla my freshman year of college (I wasnt hurt a bit though). We replaced it with 2000 corolla. I loved both cars. My little white "curla" has lasted me more than I would imagine. I drove it all through college, back and forth to work, and now, 9 years later, I have a carseat for my little boy in there, and commute 150 miles/day. And its still just right for me. I have over 200,000 miles on it, have rear ended someone, hit a deer, and its still tickin. Plus, Im not looking to get rid of it any time soon, and when I do, I just might look at another corolla.

First Toyota - 2009 Toyota Corolla
By First Corolla - December 15 - 11:20 amI was either going to buy a Yaris or the Corolla and when I drove up to the lot there was a Barcelona red Corolla and a red Yaris. The salesman thought I should get the Corolla because of the more roominess and other options. Best friend has a Yaris and he gloats how it gets better mileage but I dont think I have made a mistake in getting the Corolla. I put about fifty miles a day in it so I was looking for fuel economy and I love the style of this car. The color turns many heads and it drives great! I get about 31 miles a gallon in the winter and it goes up to 35 in the summer. Eighty percent of my driving is freeway. Its a great car.

2005 Corolla - 2005 Toyota Corolla
By berry mathews - December 14 - 6:13 pmThis car needs to have a smoother ride and the doors need to be easier to maneuver. Too much wind whistle and too much rattle.

I have mixed feelings - 2004 Toyota Corolla
By 707Rob - December 12 - 11:30 pmAt 65,000 miles a rear wheel bearing went bad. I thought "great $100 bucks max at the dealer and Ill press in a new one." WRONG. $300+ later I had to buy the WHOLE hub assembly. This is a bad design issue that makes people fork out the dough for parts. 85,000 miles, Engine serpentine belt Tensioner = same design issue....it isnt serviceable $245 later, I now have a quiet belt and tensioner assembly. Fog light relay went bad, $65.00 later the lights work again. Parts are expensive for these cars! Should this stuff be wearing out so soon? Why not design serviceability into the parts?! Or is Toyota trying to sell you pricey parts? Sorry Toyota, that Fusion is looking good.

Unpredictable Handling - 2010 Toyota Corolla
By benine - December 12 - 10:23 pmThe handling of this thing is worst of the 6 FWD vehicles Ive owned--makes driving work instead of pleasure. Like riding a half-broke horse, you dont know which way its going and when! I doubt its due to weight--other small cars dont have the problem. Otherwise, price, pep, gas mileage, visibility, noise levels are good for this level of vehicle. Poor center armrest for driver. After I bought it, dealership informed me it needs undercoating from them or Ziebart because its not done at factory! The vehicle would be a keeper if the steering mechanism was reliable and it tracked well. Best thing about car is its a Toyota and I should be able to unload it easily for a decent price.

1999 Corolla, Wifes choice. - 1999 Toyota Corolla
By jlhaxby - December 10 - 10:00 amWe were looking for a new vehicle in 1999. My wife suggested the corolla because her sister had a 1997 model. We looked at Ford, Chevys and Chyslers, but decided on the corolla. We only drive approximately 7500 miles per year and have had zero problems with the car, except for a dead battery. Just one minor crash into a wall, but it held up well. (The wife did it.)

Piece of Junk - 2002 Toyota Corolla
By netprowlerp - December 9 - 5:13 pmOwned this car for a few years, had both Cats go change under warranty. Toyota put bad motors in these, rings that carbon up and dont seal. I was burning a quart every 200 miles when the car had 50,000, dealer told me they could not confirm the complaint. I have owned 3 Toyotas now and all were cheaply put together and I had nothing but problems. I thing it is time to give the American Cars a try again, can not be any worse then this Junk Box they call the best.
