Model Overview:

Well into its fourth decade of production, the compact Toyota Corolla is the best-selling car in automotive history, and for good reason. Small, inexpensive, fuel-efficient and as reliable as the day is long, the Corolla is the quintessential economy car. As long as you change the oil on time and don't hit a tree, any Corolla should provide dependable transportation well past the 100,000-mile mark. That's why so many shoppers keep buying Corollas year after year.

Since its 1968 introduction in the U.S., the Toyota Corolla has come in a variety of body styles, including a sedan, coupe, hatchback and wagon. More recently, however, it has only been available as a sedan. Today's Corolla has almost as much rear passenger space as a midsize sedan and its fuel economy is impressive. Although rivals boast sportier designs and more entertaining driving dynamics, a Corolla is nonetheless an excellent choice for smart consumers on a budget.

I already have a 2006 Corolla automatic which we bought new and me and my wife love it. I always like to drive manual and this time I had a chance to shop for a manual transmission car ( my wife does not drive manual). I drove most of the cars in this segment and finally narrow it down to Civic LX, Mazda 3 I Touring and Corolla S. When compared to other two ( Civic and Mazda 3) Corolla S is less in power, but far superior in other categories.

I brought this car over 2 years ago, and have had no problems with it whatsoever. I get regular oil changes, and some regular maintainance. It is very dependable.

I remember going with my mom when she purchased her Corolla new in 96 - and her going with me when I bought mine new 10 years later. I am a full time student and work full time, and thought having a new car meant no mechanical problems. The car worked well for the first two years, but has been falling apart since. The ECU has had to be replaced, but the engine problems persist. Toyota apparently has a "no code, no problem" policy. They apologize a lot that you are having problems, but thats the extent of their customer service. My engine feels like its about to fall out, and they refuse to acknowledge that their solution to the recall on my car has not solved the problems.

  • Awesome Car, even for those over 6 ft - 2005 Toyota Corolla

Just purchased my 2005 Corolla S. It is the best car I have ever owned. For the price you just cant beat the quality of it. I am 6 ft 3 in and 210 lbs and I have plenty of legroom and headroom even with the sunroof. I would recomend this car to anyone

Bought in Jan 2012 with 7 miles on the clock. I have put over 82,000 miles on the car since (70/30 highway/city). Only routine maintenance, no issues with anything whatsoever. Original brakes/tires lasted nearly 70k. I average 37mpg combined commuting ~430 miles per week. Overall very happy with this car - the newer corollas I have driven as loaners seem a bit more cheaply built compared to the 11.

  • I LOVE MY CAR - 2004 Toyota Corolla

I love this little car! I bought it because I drive 60 miles one way to work and needed something with good gas mileage, and ended up liking everything about the car. I actually get about 38 mpg city/hwy, but mostly highway miles which is wonderful with the cost of gas now. Great car for the price so far.

My LIFE is driving. I annually put around 40,000 miles on vehicles, and as an avid older Porsche collector, I demand satisfaction. My Integra with 376,850 actual miles (original VERY tired engine) finally croaked. Found the "S", liked it, and got the 0% financing. I am in LOVE with this car- the "squishy/squealy tires" and soft suspension are exactly what I need for my job. Indeed, I am 510 and 135 lbs, so the seat-comfort complaints might be valid for larger drivers. What I love is how quiet it is, the impeccable build quality, the ample power and the incredible gas mileage (39.6 avg). Turn the key and drive it for 10 years. I trust it.

  • Great value - 2005 Toyota Corolla

I purchased my 2005 Corolla LE several weeks ago and very pleased so far. The interior is extremely refined and comfortable for a car in this price range. The rear seats have a lot of legand head room for a compact car. Driving is surprisingly smooth and comfortable by small car standards. Fuel economy is great - in mostly highway driving, I have been averaging about 36 mpg. Add in Toyotas sterling reputation for reliability and I highly recommend the Corolla to anyone looking for an inexpensive, but not "cheap" vehicle.

  • Great dependable car - 2009 Toyota Corolla

Had this car for nearly two years now. I drive about 30000 miles a year, mixed of highway/city driving. Only had regular inexpensive maintenance done so far with no single issue. Comfortable drive, great fuel economy and good looking car.
