Model Overview:

Well into its fourth decade of production, the compact Toyota Corolla is the best-selling car in automotive history, and for good reason. Small, inexpensive, fuel-efficient and as reliable as the day is long, the Corolla is the quintessential economy car. As long as you change the oil on time and don't hit a tree, any Corolla should provide dependable transportation well past the 100,000-mile mark. That's why so many shoppers keep buying Corollas year after year.

Since its 1968 introduction in the U.S., the Toyota Corolla has come in a variety of body styles, including a sedan, coupe, hatchback and wagon. More recently, however, it has only been available as a sedan. Today's Corolla has almost as much rear passenger space as a midsize sedan and its fuel economy is impressive. Although rivals boast sportier designs and more entertaining driving dynamics, a Corolla is nonetheless an excellent choice for smart consumers on a budget.

Toyota has always proven to be very reliable. The Corolla has oustanding gas mileage and tune-ups every 5000 miles, which is great compared to 3000 miles. I have been told that the car looks great from absolute strangers at street lights. I also recommended a friend to buy one and she loves it too.

With slightly over 2K miles on this car Im a happy customer. The car is quiet, I never heard complaints from the rear passenger about comfort or ride. Ive gotten a lot more compliments from people on the cars looks than I expected. It is like a baby Lexus. A loveable car. A better choice than the Golf I was pondering about especially in regards to reliability. The Corolla reminds me of my friends VW GTi as far as quietness and body rigidity is concerned. There is nothing cheap in the corolla. All in all this is a great buy for a car with this much class and refinement with a decent price.

  • I love it... - 2001 Toyota Corolla

I used to drive a Mitsubishi Eclipse (a disaster that cost me a fortune in repair costs and eventually ended up with a cracked engine block). So I am extremely happy with my reliable Corolla S. It has great gas mileage and is very well built. I would highly recommend this car to anyone!!

  • My New XRS - 2009 Toyota Corolla
    By -

Well Ive only had my XRS for a few days now; however in that brief time Ive found it to extremely fun to drive, very comfortable and Im disabled so to me thats saying something. Power is good for the 2.4l but its not my first experience with that particular engine I have a Tacoma Pickup with the same engine (115,000 mi) not a lick of trouble. Mileage is great, 115 mi so far and hasnt moved off of the Full marker in all city driving. Fit and finish is as good as any other I run across. Overall its my third Toyoa and I must say I look forward to many happy miles down the road.

I bought This car about three weeks ago So far its great, Excellent Fuel Economy. Concerned about paint thats chipped less than a 1/4 inch on the center of the door, Other wise the car is great. Ive Changed the stock streo to a new sony in-dash cd player and sounds great with the stock speakers. I would recommend this viechle to anyone in any age range.

  • Good Basic Car! - 1999 Toyota Corolla
    By -

My Toyota Corolla has given me ABSOLUTELY NO PROBLEMS for the entire time Ive owned it. Ive only changed the oil and filled it up with gas...nothing else. It gets AWESOME gas mileage...higher than 30 mpg on the freeway and close to 30 in the city. It is a good, simple, basic car. Nothing fancy about it. Toyota spent the money and time on building a reliable car here, not a fancy one.

  • 104K mi and still a beast - 2007 Toyota Corolla
    By -

This car is simply the best. It is a zero frills, going to get you to your destination every time vehicle. I have put 104K on it myself, purchased new in 2007. I have done regular-ish service, going about 7500 between oil changes. I used to drive aggressively, but after calming down I now get 37-42 on the highway. I hit 45mpg once.... I never get under 30mpg, ever. The only downside I can think of is that I will not be in the market for a new car in a long time. I reasonably expect to hit 200K and I no longer have a commute to work. (<1mi). Also, I have no ABS and I now live in the northeast. This hasnt been a problem yet. Ive made it through very heavy snowstorms.

  • Reliable, Economical Econo Box - 2007 Toyota Corolla

Today my 07 Corolla hit the 100K mile mark. To date, the overall MPG is 34.08. At 74K miles the engine component module went out but was covered by Toyota. At 81K miles, the intake manifold gasket was replaced for $135. These are the only problems I’ve had with the car. The OE G/Y Integrity tires were worn and replaced at 48K miles. I replaced them with G/Y Assurance ComfortTred which gives the car a quieter and more stable ride. There is still plenty of tread after 52K miles. The brakes are original. Seating position is good except very little lumbar support. I use a little pillow. I’m 6’2” and am comfortable driving 500 mile days. It’s a very good econo box.
