Model Overview:

Well into its fourth decade of production, the compact Toyota Corolla is the best-selling car in automotive history, and for good reason. Small, inexpensive, fuel-efficient and as reliable as the day is long, the Corolla is the quintessential economy car. As long as you change the oil on time and don't hit a tree, any Corolla should provide dependable transportation well past the 100,000-mile mark. That's why so many shoppers keep buying Corollas year after year.

Since its 1968 introduction in the U.S., the Toyota Corolla has come in a variety of body styles, including a sedan, coupe, hatchback and wagon. More recently, however, it has only been available as a sedan. Today's Corolla has almost as much rear passenger space as a midsize sedan and its fuel economy is impressive. Although rivals boast sportier designs and more entertaining driving dynamics, a Corolla is nonetheless an excellent choice for smart consumers on a budget.

Good car. Car is comfortable and rides very nice. good interior and trunk space. tire pressure warning light has come on twice in three months. Brought car back to dealer to have tire checked. They couldnt find any problems and said this is a normal warning. Not completely satisfied with answer.

This my third Toyota. I am terribly disappointed with this particular car. I brought this car in for repair more than a half-dozen times. It left me stranded by stalling out, and something is herently wrong with the way it rides. The first was *finally taken care of when they figured out the computer was bad. I was actually looking at Lemon Law! The second problem we thought was the tires. After countless tire alignments and balance, the dealership replaced the tires and changed the bent rim. While these corrections helped initially, the problem ride persists and they have chalked it up to the road. Im trading this car in soon.

I absolutely love my Corolla DX. Its the perfect small car. Its reliable, comfortable, easy to drive, and handles great. So far it has about 98000 miles and Ive never had any problems. Unfortunately, my car was recently struck on the passangers side at about 70-80 mph, so I can also say that its reliable in a collision. The unibody absorbed the damage. Sadly, the body is unrepairable, although mechanically the car is still in perfect condition.

Bought used @ 116k miles. Rear struts were gone, outer door gaskets crumbled. (but this is common for this model with age.) needed new cat. Converter @ 138k, my fault - didnt change the plug wires! Runs like a gazelle! (amazingly well!) 163k miles now, uses less than 1/8th qt oil in 5,000 miles - unbelievable! Smog chk only slightly higher than new car! With practice, can get 46 mpg highway, with the auto trans! Original starter, water pump, etc. Im 6,4" tall, 240 lbs, its a *bit* cramped, but for the $$, that it will likely run forever; gonna keep it til it falls apart! Change oil / trans fluid religiously, new plugs & wires, etc, should last 400k miles or more. $3.00 for gas, hah!

  • I love this car! - 2010 Toyota Corolla

I have had none of the problems that I have seen in these reviews. I suspect that most are made up by haters that dont even own one. 39.5 MPG, quiet, very comfy, and damn good looking.

This car is supposed to get at least 26 mpg. Over the past years it has only gotten 17!!! I dont live where there is tones of stop and go driving either. This car is not what its made out to be. The engine is very high strung and noisey. And, if you dont mind having every car passing you when youre getting on the interstate, have at it!

I had a used 89 Corrolla and loved it so much that I bought a new one in 2003. I have never had a single problem with it, it gets great mileage, and its fun to drive.
