Well into its fourth decade of production, the compact Toyota Corolla is the best-selling car in automotive history, and for good reason. Small, inexpensive, fuel-efficient and as reliable as the day is long, the Corolla is the quintessential economy car. As long as you change the oil on time and don't hit a tree, any Corolla should provide dependable transportation well past the 100,000-mile mark. That's why so many shoppers keep buying Corollas year after year.
Since its 1968 introduction in the U.S., the Toyota Corolla has come in a variety of body styles, including a sedan, coupe, hatchback and wagon. More recently, however, it has only been available as a sedan. Today's Corolla has almost as much rear passenger space as a midsize sedan and its fuel economy is impressive. Although rivals boast sportier designs and more entertaining driving dynamics, a Corolla is nonetheless an excellent choice for smart consumers on a budget.

PLEASE do NOT buy this car - 2009 Toyota Corolla
By chefgirl1 - August 22 - 12:27 amI have owned my Corolla for 3 years now. It had 57,000 miles on it. The only cars i have ever had have been Toyotas. Never Again!! My accelerator pedal became stuck 2 days ago I was merging into oncoming traffic on the interstate. I went from 35 mph to a sudden 75 before the pedal came "unstuck". It was the horrifying! My car was not a part of the recent recalls. Until after the incident. I am scarred to drive the car now. I warn all owners and people looking to purchase! it can happen to you! I never thought this would happen to me ever!

Great Car for A Great Price - 2005 Toyota Corolla

I have had this car for almost a year and I have been very pleased with it. The outside styling is great- more than you would expect from a $16K car. The LE interior is very upscale with sport well-lit gauges, two-tone interior and comfortable seats. There are plenty of storage compartments for just about everything. Some tall drivers may find the steering wheel a little too far away- but not bad for an economy car. There is a decent amount of backseat space and a lot of trunk space. The engine is more than powerful enough and the transmission is smooth through all 4 gears.

Best car i ever owned! - 1996 Toyota Corolla
By Jose B - August 16 - 12:56 amI bought this car used with 36,000 miles on it in 1999.It now has 182,000 and still in great shape. Never changed the timing chain or transmission oil. Car was always reliable and never left me stranded anywhere. By far the best car i ever owned.

Not impressed - 2006 Toyota Corolla
By Wikoff7 - August 10 - 10:46 amI bought a lightly used, low mileage Corolla S rental return in Feb, 2006. Mechanically, the car has been fine, mileage good, but the paint quality is poor and the road noise is terrible. Toyota quality is going downhill. I have owned several Toyotas, but this is the the last one I will ever buy, unless Toyota significantly improves quality.

Great Compact Car - 1999 Toyota Corolla

My experience with this vehicle has been wonderful and certainly affirms Toyota as the best auto manufacturer out there. Ive driven many compact cars and nothing else can even compare.

By Lei - August 9 - 10:19 am220,000 miles on it. Never maintenance, every 20,000 miles for one oil change, normal wheel bearings and brakes replacement at 200,000 miles. Never have problem.
