Overview & Reviews
Well into its fourth decade of production, the compact Toyota Corolla is the best-selling car in automotive history, and for good reason. Small, inexpensive, fuel-efficient and as reliable as the day is long, the Corolla is the quintessential economy car. As long as you change the oil on time and don't hit a tree, any Corolla should provide dependable transportation well past the 100,000-mile mark. That's why so many shoppers keep buying Corollas year after year.
Since its 1968 introduction in the U.S., the Toyota Corolla has come in a variety of body styles, including a sedan, coupe, hatchback and wagon. More recently, however, it has only been available as a sedan. Today's Corolla has almost as much rear passenger space as a midsize sedan and its fuel economy is impressive. Although rivals boast sportier designs and more entertaining driving dynamics, a Corolla is nonetheless an excellent choice for smart consumers on a budget.

Airbag Safety - 2004 Toyota Corolla
By Gnart - September 9 - 2:00 amReview must be much less than 700 characters so I focus on SAFETY. BIGGEST QUESTION IS SAFETY. We had a head-on crash at ~35mph. Front-end collapsed & totaled. Driver hit the steering column, NONE of the front/side airbags deployed. Seatbelts kept us from hitting the windshield. Airbags in the other vehicle worked. Put a call into Toyotas product safety, left our phone number but they didnt bother to call back – poor customer support. We loved the car until the accident. Now we hope the insurance company would total the car so that we can buy something else instead of driving in a death trap.

Corolla S looks nicer than a IS300 - 2003 Toyota Corolla
By Kenshin - September 7 - 10:00 amI recently crashed my 2003 S corolla, ouch! But am going to get another one with higher insurance to pay =(. Loved the car and the looks. Only problem is that strong winds on the freeway makes the car dance.

The dependable Corolla - 1996 Toyota Corolla
By wardo - September 2 - 10:00 amThe Corolla will give years of reliable service. Toyota uses high quality, long lasting parts and components. At 150K miles the engine uses little oil, the original CV joints and boots are intact, and generally everything works as it did when new.Not to mention great MPG.

Never again! - 2003 Toyota Corolla
By vader33 - September 2 - 10:00 amWorst car I have ever purchased. Every bump in the road causes noise in the front end. Factory recall on front end parts, got them replaced, problem not fixed. Incompetent mechanics and/or bad car design? Only power is between 3500 and 4500 rpms. Very unstable to drive on the highway at 75mph. Somebody wake me from this nightmare!! Do yourself a favor and buy a Honda!

Front seats extremely painful - 2006 Toyota Corolla
By Nancy - August 29 - 2:40 amThe seat is hard and made in 2 lumps. The one at the back is where upper truck puts all weight in one spot on buttocks causing pain and numbness of the entire leg. The lump in the front tips upward and presses on the pressure point of artery on the back of the leg. The foot rest keeps prevents the leg from having any place to strech the leg that is numb and tingling from the pain caused from the seat. The footrest is so high that if the leg is somewhat in a less painful position, you cannot reach the clutch engagement point. The lower section of the dash is so low your the shin bone hits it when engaging the clutch or trying to move leg from bent position forced by footrest.

Perfect first car - 2006 Toyota Corolla
By tu2010 - August 28 - 5:50 amBought this car used last year as my first car and love every minute driving it. Its a fun little car to drive with a peppy gas pedal. Very comfortable, spacious, gas mileage is not as great(30mpg). Had many near accidents and the brakes saved my life. I drive very rough with this car but hasnt fallen apart yet. I get a lot of compliments on the color. (Its light green)Plan to have it for the next 6-7 years. Would definitely recommend this to ALL college students or anyones choice for their first car.

Why buy a Lexus? - 2009 Toyota Corolla
By 09corolla - August 27 - 6:40 pmHave all options available for the S trim. With urban freeway driving of 60 miles/day I avg. 38 MPG (calculated miles/gals not display) No problems with steering feel - much better than Honda Civic Hybrid. Good ride comfort, quiet, no wind noise.

VROOOOMMMMM!!!! - 2005 Toyota Corolla
By Tel - August 25 - 10:40 amI was smiling as I passed a Bemer heading up a steep incline this morning! Overall, a great car!!! However, with the 170 hp engine, the gas mileage suffers as compared to the other Corolla models-Im averaging about 30 mpg which is primarily 90% highway (ok, averaging 80 mph-its hard to keep this baby down!) You should also be aware that the engine requires a high octane gas and comes equipped with summer tires as its considered a performance vehicle. Finding replacement winter tires/wheels for 195/55/16 size ran me another $917 (finally found them on the internet.) OUCH! Now that Ive swallowed these surprises, Im back to smiling every time I turn over the engine. VROOOOMMM!!!

Blah Blah Toyota - 2005 Toyota Corolla
By Issolt - August 24 - 10:00 amI just bought the 2005 Corolla "S". Im confident that this bland little car will get me wherever I want to go for the next 10 years. A month ago my Subaru Legacy breathed its last breath in Hurricane Ivans floodwaters. I had to replace it quickly, and since the Subarus are now priced out of my range, I looked at a Mazda 3, a Honda Civic and the Toyota Corolla. The Toyota looked like the best value so I bought it. I wanted something that would look fun but be reliable and perform well too, and I believe thats just what I got. I just dont like the front seat at all. I feel like its shoving my head forward.
