Model Overview:

Well into its fourth decade of production, the compact Toyota Corolla is the best-selling car in automotive history, and for good reason. Small, inexpensive, fuel-efficient and as reliable as the day is long, the Corolla is the quintessential economy car. As long as you change the oil on time and don't hit a tree, any Corolla should provide dependable transportation well past the 100,000-mile mark. That's why so many shoppers keep buying Corollas year after year.

Since its 1968 introduction in the U.S., the Toyota Corolla has come in a variety of body styles, including a sedan, coupe, hatchback and wagon. More recently, however, it has only been available as a sedan. Today's Corolla has almost as much rear passenger space as a midsize sedan and its fuel economy is impressive. Although rivals boast sportier designs and more entertaining driving dynamics, a Corolla is nonetheless an excellent choice for smart consumers on a budget.

  • my xrs - 2005 Toyota Corolla

This is my 3rd Toyota Corolla. I had the 2003 s series before I got my 2005 XRS. When I first drove my car off the lot and hit the freeway it made me scream. The power and speed were amazing. I love the race car bucket seats and the chrome trimming. However, the beep beep noise that the car makes when it is in reverse or when you dont put your seatbelt on fast enough are a pain in the "you know where." Overall the driving experience has been a pleasurable one.

Loved my 87 Corolla...had it 11 years (bought it used). 30 mpg when I retired it. 2000: great: 38 mpg when I traded it for this piece of crap: tranny replaced at 96K, just told I need a new radiator. Brake pedal winks when the AC is on (dealer told me it was normal). I only get 32 mpg at best (stick shift!, not my driving. I got 41 mpg on a rented Cobalt). Radio jumps stations (already replaced when the CD player got jammed). Car is too big: too many blind spots compared to older models. Back head rests block rear view (as did the 2000), removed and stored for trade-in. Even the paint on the body below the door isnt smooth. Seats dont go down fully (overstuffed).

  • 2004 Corolla S - 2004 Toyota Corolla

This is our 4th Toyota and theyve all been fabulous. 92 Camry LE V6, 97 Corolla DX, 03 Corolla S, 04 Corolla S. My wife and I still drive the 92 Camry and our daughter has the 03 Corolla. Unfortunately, the 97 was totalled last year. As much as we like the Camry, we like the 04 Corolla S even more. Theres nearly as much room in the Corolla. The Corolla rides better in certain conditions and the gas mileage is so much better. Its really a more fun car to drive and it has that certain Toyota feel that it will last forever. We love our Corolla.

  • A Smart Decision - 2008 Toyota Corolla

I just purchased the 08 Corolla; traded in an 07 Mustang GT. I couldnt be happier with this decision. The Corolla is peppy, smooth, and handles well. Plenty of horsepower for commuting to and from work in a combination of city/highway driving. When you shut the doors, it sounds as solid as my wifes Volvo. No chance to check on fuel economy, so my rating there is based upon what Ive read; I hope to get in the mid to high 30s, however. The halogen headlights are very bright. The four speaker, base stereo sounds fine. I love the simplicity of the design. This car just makes good sense. The more gas prices rise, the more money I save.

  • great japanese car! - 2003 Toyota Corolla

Its really powerful on its class for 130hp than other japanese cars. nice interior and exterior, rally-feel suspension and dashboard. the car come with front and rear stabilizer bars and it is very good on cornering but only for dry condition. it is extreamly dangerous on wet condition because the car come with firestone tire. my car was having a short distance skid when i step on the brake on wet condition on the second day after i got the car. ill upgrade the tire to either yokohama or turanza and 16-inch alloy wheel rather than 15- inch since the car got no ABS.

  • TYPE S AND LOVING IT. - 2012 Toyota Corolla
    By -

This is my fourth Toyota product and I love it. My fuel economy, sleek design , and spoiler , and blutooth tech are amazing. Funny story my girlfriend also has a type s a year newer than mine and she also loves it. We live in the city a mile apart from each other and we both love the car. We both plan on keep our type Ss for a long time. You cant go wrong with a car like this.

  • Love my Corolla S! So Cute and Fuel Efficient! - 2010 Toyota Corolla
    By -

This car has been one of the most reliable fuel efficient cars I have owned in a while. I have had it since 2011 and it now has 30k on it and runs perfect. I only have to fill up the tank once every week and a half. Fantastic car with cute sporty look!~

  • 40 MPG and Fun to Drive! - 2006 Toyota Corolla
    By -

Weve had this car close to 30 months now and it has been great. The smaller engine is offset by the 5-spd manual and decent handling for the price. Not a single problem yet. But to top it off the mileage is great! We just completed a round trip between San Jose, CA to Vancouver, WA and put over 1500 miles on the car. I tracked the mileage very close and we got 40.2 mpg for the whole trip! Now I need to say we dont speed but drive the posted speed limit (55, 65, 70). We used A/C for a 85% and this total included climbing hill, mountains and around town drives. So obey the posted limits, set the cruise control and enjoy the money you save!

  • Super Reliable Transportation - 1999 Toyota Corolla
    By -

Ive owned my 99 Corolla LE for 4 years now and am now thinking of trading it in. This car has been the most reliable vehicle I have ever owned. Even on -10 degree days it starts up exactly like it was 75 degrees in July - instantly. My biggest complaint is that the car feels like it gets tossed around by bumps a little too easily. But this is probably a result of being a small car more than anything else.

  • best car Ive ever had - 2001 Toyota Corolla
    By -

I have had my 2001 LE for 2 yrs and I cant complain about one thing! It handles like a dream and gives a quiet ride - the gas mileage is great - I usually get 30 mpg in the city and 39 on the highway - no rattles, squeaks and NO RECALLS! I almost bought a Civic and I am so glad I got the Corolla instead - it has a better powertrain warranty than the Civic and was voted the #1 small car in inital quality by JD Powers & Assoc for 2001 - its not hard to see why -
