Model Overview:

Well into its fourth decade of production, the compact Toyota Corolla is the best-selling car in automotive history, and for good reason. Small, inexpensive, fuel-efficient and as reliable as the day is long, the Corolla is the quintessential economy car. As long as you change the oil on time and don't hit a tree, any Corolla should provide dependable transportation well past the 100,000-mile mark. That's why so many shoppers keep buying Corollas year after year.

Since its 1968 introduction in the U.S., the Toyota Corolla has come in a variety of body styles, including a sedan, coupe, hatchback and wagon. More recently, however, it has only been available as a sedan. Today's Corolla has almost as much rear passenger space as a midsize sedan and its fuel economy is impressive. Although rivals boast sportier designs and more entertaining driving dynamics, a Corolla is nonetheless an excellent choice for smart consumers on a budget.

  • RELIABLE! - 1998 Toyota Corolla

I bought this as a previous leased vehicle with 39,900 miles. I now have 121,000 and mechanically have only replaced the battery & put pads on the brakes. The interior integrity has not been the best, but I can rely on it to run & get me where I want to go. Radio is on/off, replaced both front door handles(not cheap), but I totally would & will by another Toyota. My daughter is buying one in 2 days. She needs a reliable car. I get 28-32 MPG mixed. Replaced the battery & put pads on my brakes. Regular tune up at 110,000(first set of plugs) Love the car. Not the most comfortable, but it never lets me down.

  • One great little car. - 1996 Toyota Corolla

I bought my 96 Corolla in May of 2012 from a Porsche dealership. It was used with 106k miles on it, and I probably overpaid for it at $4k. I havent put more than 5k miles on it since my purchase, but it has been a great car to me! I never worry about it not starting and it has never had any major problems - all Ive really put into it is routine maintenance. For a car that is nearing twenty years old, its got surprisingly good gas mileage. I get 30 hw and 25 city, give or take. My car is also an automatic, which would explain the mpg being a little lower than that of the standard manual models. Being a college student, its cheap to maintain and perfect for me.

I absolutely love this car, it is pretty surprising how quick this car is! Also loving the gas mileage! Handles amazing. Id line it up against a stock Civic si vtec, or a stock mustang gt, at anytime! Already beat both! All I can say is wow!

  • Corolla, Not a Bad Little Car - 1997 Toyota Corolla
    By -

I was the third owner of this Base Corolla with 97,000 miles. It was a little beat up, but in great running condition. Had to put a timing belt on at 100,000 miles, put some speakers in the back"only came with two up front" and cd player. I have not had any mechanical problems, runs well and rides like a compact. The Clear Coat finish was flaking a bit on the roof and truck when I bought it and has continued, not sure if it pays to have it fixed. I payed $4800 in February 2009. Overall this car is nice, not very big and does not ride like our 96 Camry. Good cheap car.

  • ABS Issues, interior noise - 2010 Toyota Corolla
    By -

So I bought this car, and from day one, under normal driving conditions, if Im braking and I hit a bump or pothole, the OVERSENSITIVE ABS kicks in and increases the stopping distance. Loud and heavy vibration, felt at the pedal. This is an issue that definitely needs to be addressed, I bought this car for the safety rating, but its not safe. I cart around young family and this vehicle is definitely not safe. I regret buying this car. Has only 7k miles on it and I sit and watch it collect dust.

  • Looking for something dependable? - 2002 Toyota Corolla
    By -

Ill spare you the details and just use phrases: 1) Zippy and fun; 2) lightweight car so the pick-up more than compensates for the 4-cylinder engine; 3) Great turning radius; 4) Dependable in rough weather (this including ridulous blizzards in mountainous Pennsylvania); 5) two words: FUEL EFFICIENCY; 6) nice sound system- definitely underestimated; 7) (as silly as this sounds) interior is easy to clean and keep clean; 8) wonderful car :)

  • a LOT of car for 17K - 2003 Toyota Corolla
    By -

I bought a 2003 Corolla for the same reasons most folks do -- basic, reliable transportation at a budget price. When the car finally arrived (about 5 weeks after date of purchase), I was very pleasantly surprised to discover that I loved the way it looked and drove (hadnt bothered to test- drive the car because I owned a Corolla previously). With 130 HP, 125 ft/lb torque, and a manual transmission, the engine is a LOT peppier than my old Corolla (100 HP, AT). The surprisingly roomy interior, super-comfy seats, CD player, and sunroof all make for a very pleasant driving experience. I couldnt be happier with this car!

  • perfect - 2003 Toyota Corolla

This was a great buy. I am in love with my car and will drive it anywhere and everywhere. I have had no problems at all and I have no complaints. If your in southern california, go to LONG BEACH TOYOTA on the PCH and for repairs, go to Chevron in Seal beach. GREAT PEOPLE and IMMPECABLE service. They make you feel like a king/queen.

  • Love it so far! - 2009 Toyota Corolla
    By -

I just purchased the new 2009 Corolla LE over the weekend and I love it so far. The S model was too sporty for me so decided to get the LE model and it pretty much has everything I need such as power windows, power locks, a/c, keyless entry, etc. I was going to get the Yaris, but after test driving both vehicles, I noticed Corolla had more power and felt safer in the Corolla.
